1. I've got a late 90's USA L2000 and have played a tribute. The tributes are great for the money but the neck on the US ones are streets ahead (though still a bit chunkier than an MM or a jazz).
 2. Dang! If I had the cash you would have a sale, but I don't so I'll just drool instead...

 4. This is a bit of a feeler for my EBS Multicomp. I bought it a month ago from the bass centre and as most people will tell you its pretty much the best pedal compressor money can buy. It is also the new type model with true bypass. It's in minty condition complete with box and certificate. The reason I'm selling it is I just traded my LMKII for a EBS HD350 which has a built in a multicomp circuit so I don't need it anymore. I've only used it a couple of times and other than having some velcro stuck on the bottom it's in perfect condition. Ideally I'm after a trade for an EBS chorus or wah or even a new style EHX micro synth or anything else cool you want to suggest (I don't need any fuzz or OD pedals tho) If anyone does want to offer me some cold hard cash then due to it's age and desirability I would want £100 delivered. I also have a Roger Mayer Mongoose fuzz for sale if you are so inclined.
 5. I'm interested. Am I right in thinking that it is the style old version that needs a 24v power supply and if so does it come with one?
 6. Ive got a lovely Roger Mayer Mongoose fuzz for Px It's a lovely creamy fuzz but it's just too big for my pedal board. It's the purple spaceship kind rather than the boring x kind and can be seen here: http://www.roger-mayer.co.uk/guitar_effects.htm I'm open to suggestions for a Px but a nice compact fuzz or a micro synth would do very nicely I'm on the Suffolk / Cambridge border and don't mind people coming to try stuff or driving to exchange.

 8.
I'd be very interested to know which 4 ohm and which 8 ohm cabs you've compared. I keep hearing anecdotes about this but no-one ever goes into much detail! Is the LMII just a weird case where the 4 ohm performance is much better than the 8 ohm performance?
I don't know if it is something that is more apparent with class D amps like the Mark Bass. A 3 dB lift should only be perceived as 25% louder (I think) and I would anecdotally suggest it seemed to make more of a difference than that. I've used my LMKII with one or two 8 ohm Behringer, Warkwick, Markbass and Ashdown cabs and my own 4ohm EBS cab and I would agree that using a cab with decent sensitivity speakers like an EBS makes as much or more difference as dropping the impedance.
In that case either you are not using full power so there is no advantage to the amount of extra output from a lower impedance load, or (as with the gain staging of most typical amps) you are reaching full power on louder notes with the master volume only halfway.
I've still got stacks of power on hand with the LMKII. I usually have it set so the gain is well back from the clip level with the master on about 40% to play with a loud drummer and I've had it up to 3/4 out of interest which still sounded undistorted, but had everyone running for the exit with bleeding ears! I don't really need the power, but it's good to know it's there.
 9. The LMKII is quite a clean pure sounding amp. I've A/Bed it with an Ashdown a few times and the Ashdown will always sound much more muddy and grungy in comparison although I can get a pretty mean sound by sticking an EBS multidrive in front of it an adding a bit of VLE.
 10. Weirdly I have almost the set up you describe (LMKII and a 4 Ohm EBS 4x10) and having used the LMKII with a variety of set ups I can confirm running with a 4Ohm cab (especially one with decent speakers like the EBS) is a heck of a lot louder than an 8. I'm not sure that you actually need that much power as even with a brutally loud rock drummer I never get my amp up to half way!
 11. So here's the deal. I've got an EBS Proline 410 cab with a Mark Bass head and though it sounds awesome I would like to get a Mark Bass cab or an EBS head so I have a matched pair. It doesn't have to be a 410 cab and I would possibly be prepared to trade the both for a Mark Bass or EBS combo of some description. So basically let me know what you've got and maybe we can make a deal. I'm in the Suffolk/Cambridge area.

 13.
Going on abay tomorrow. £550 cash gets it here
I've got a a little mark II I would consider trading.
