  1. When love goes wrong. . . .
  2. I wouldn't have my first bass back if it was free!! What Lull basses are they? Sell one to me and buy what you want.
  3. He was playing bass in the UK from abut 14, so that makes hem an honorary Brit.
  4. I failed O Level Maths. . . .
  5. British bass heroes. . . . Phil Chen Jet Harris Alan Spenner
  6. I'm done. I only need 2 basses. I played a Jazz with rounds and a PJ with flats for most of the last decade. Unfortunately a back issue means I've got to find a lightweight replacement for the Jazz. So far, none of the basses I've tried have been "the one". I didn't expect replacing a favourite bass to be this hard.
  7. Vernie Robbins Junior Lowe Mike Leech All unsung bass heroes. . . .
  8. This year I've looking for a special lightweight bass. I bought 4 (Cort, Ibanez, Lakland, Sandberg), 1 amp (TH700), 1 pedal (Sadowsky SBP-1), Mono Vertigo, and Sleeve gig bags, a strap and 2 sets of Dunlop strap locks. A busy year. All very good purchases, but none of the basses have made themselves indispensable, so I'll probably sell them all next year, and try again.
  9. I heard several LFSys cabs at the SE Bass Bash. IMO they are worth investigating. There is no "lack of bottom end". There is plenty of bass but it is tightly controlled which eliminates much of the boom and woolliness you get on many gigs.
  10. I don't get all this "eggs in 1 basket" stuff. Get out there and mingle. Network and make opportunities happen.
  11. Looks like a Lakland Skyline 44-60.
  12. Of course. As in many things there are performers and watchers.
  13. 50,000 bass players? That's too many. No wonder I can't get a frigging gig!!!!
  14. I'm interested. . . . do you have an exact weight?
  15. Keep going until you find the right people.
  16. That explains it.
  17. The time to start looking after your back is when you don't have any problems.
  18. For years I humped a 90lb 2x10 and 90lb 1x15 around. Great tone, but way too heavy. In my 40's it was just about doable, then my lower back finally gave out in my 50's, with a herniated disc. Thankfully D class and Neo have kept me in the game. I'm also trying to downsize my basses to around 7lbs.
  19. Fix!!
  20. Looking good, Alex. Too heavy for my poor old back. I need all my speakers in the smallest package I can find, but looks like a great cab for many bassists.
  21. Scott Edwards Tommy Cogbill David Hood
  22. Lets play safe and add them all. . . .
