  1. i have a metro pj 5 with an alder body and rosewood fretboard. it is a little heavy (4,5kg) but perfectly balanced so i can play it a whole night without a problem. this bass is very versatile. you have the p- and the j-pickup, both together and a lot of sounds between them. there is no effect of the j-pickup on the p-pickup if you blend it out. at least the magnetic effect is so subtle no one in a live situation would ever hear. of course the bass sounds like a p-bass but compared to my old fenders and squiers it sounds much more modern. it sounds more open (due to the nordstrand-pu) and has a lot more sustain. even with the vtc it will never really sound like a true precision. so if i play with my old rock cover band i prefer the old fender 4-stringers over the sadowsky. with a pop/rock band i always use the sadowsky. you can say the sadowsky p-basses are "fenders on steroids". if you wand the authentic p-sound go for a fender. sandmann
  2. I don´t know the Mesa 400+ but the db750 will toast the svt classic.
  3. if there is one thing that you will never have a problem with with your db750 it is volume. i think you should ad a second cab for the louder gigs. the db750 can do 2ohm. it is the loudest amp that i have heard so far.
  4. These are my Fender twins, both have SN 6XXXXX: [attachment=51732:13032009758.jpg]

  12. Hi Colin, lakland built these basses only for a short time so they are rare. its basically a 55-94/55-02 (skyline) but there are two differences: first is that the 55-76 only has one mm-pickup and no j-pickup in the neck-position and the second is that the pickup is sitting in a different position. whereas the 55-94 pickup is sitting closer to the bridge to deliver better j-sounds, the mm-pickup on the 55-76 is located in the "real" stingray position which means a little closer to the neck. it sounds different, more scooped (more snap and bottom, less mids) and much more like a true stingray. the 55-94 is close to the stingray sound, but there is a difference. the quality of the usa-laklands is outstanding so if you like a stingray on steroids you will love the 55-76.
