Note to those who haven't met @Frank Blank: he's actually a lovely chap and nowhere near as scary as his reputation and posts suggest.

Truly terrible covers of the good and the great
Richard R replied to Barking Spiders's topic in General Discussion
I slightly revise my opinion of the band, having read the comments on YT. They were 14 at the time, and frankly at that age just to get up and have a go takes some balls. Now I agree, it's still comically bad, and they hadn't really learned to play, but everyone has to start somewhere. I wonder how many of them are still in bands? Or are captains of industry? Or members here....? -
We definitely need a photo of all the basses lined up in height order like the usual suspects. 🤓

Truly terrible covers of the good and the great

That's atrocious! I note that there is nobody near the stage, very wise, and I suspect the photographer was behind sandbags 200m away using an ultra long lens. And earplugs. -
A 39.5" Shuker and a Zon Hyperbass?? AWESOME!! I shall try to get some orange smarties too.

The same effect can be achieved with a vasectomy, stops them breeding more guitarists.

Korg nanoPAD2 MIDI controller. From Korg's description: "Sixteen velocity-sensitive pads provide excellent response, delivering drum parts that are full of life. Four switchable scenes deliver 64 different pad assignments. The X-Y pad can control multiple Synthesiser parameters. Use the new "Touch Scale" function to intuitively play phrases on the X-Y touchpad. Simply select one of sixteen different scales, specify the root key and note range to match your song." All works perfectly, but has pink ink marks on some of the pads. These come from marking the pads with their function when the controller was used to select cameras in a livestream setup. The marks might come off, but I've been reluctant to use solvent as the pads are a soft plastic, and the marks don't affect the use. £25 +postage. Open to offers.

Westfield "Small Body" bass *open to offers* - *SOLD*

It's a Westfield, and as you can see from the 3rd photograph has a rather small body, hence the title. Very similar to a Thumb, but they couldn't call it that. A nice sounding bass (especially with the flats), and easy to play. Personally I would lower the action a bit, but others may want it left as it is. Normal 34" neck, nut width E-G 30mm, bridge E-G 60mm. Controls are passive VVT, pickups are humbuckers as far as I know. Weight is 3.5kg (7.8 lbs) on my travel scale. Strung with newish Adagio flatwounds. There's a mark on the neck, shown in the photograph, and one or two dinks in the body that are impossible to photograph. I'm selling this on behalf of my son. This was his first bass, bought 2nd hand from PMT in about 2010 when he would have been 14. He learned to play on it, and has played it for years in church until a few weeks ago. He's now playing a rather nice active bass, and has decided this needs a new home. A good bass for a youngster to learn on. Collection in person from Solihull, West Midlands, or somewhere not too far away. I could post it, at buyer's expense, but having never posted a bass I would be a bit nervous!

I didn't mind that version when I first heard it. The video has put me off it though. -
Truly terrible covers of the good and the great

Anything, and I mean ANYTHING, played in B&Q. A few years ago they started playing truly terrible covers of decent songs as their background music. I complained to the manager that it was making me so annoyed I would shop elsewhere. This was fine until the other local DIY store closed down and I was forced back to B&Q. I was delighted to discover they were playing originals, but it didn't last and now they are back to utter dross. Totally soulless, devoid of feeling, mind-rotting, toe-curling excrement.
