  1. No Bass day.
Got everything now. Stopped looking at basses and gear. OK - need a tuner having retired the TC with built-in (for an Aguilar, so no pain). Don't even need strings - totally happy with string choice and even have a new set of the rounds to replace when they go off. And a Hercules stand for the Jazz. That's about it.
How's it feel? Great, really good. Not like I'm skimping with 3 fine basses, 2 or 3 rigs including the newly acquired GB combo. No excuses, just play. Get better, Attack the stuff I'm wary of, confront the weaknesses. There is nothing on Earth so fine as a great bass through a great rig on a good day.

same here @prowla - last bass was... er, about 2 months ago. Last amp about a week ago. Doing really well, shakes not too bad.

  2. The Greek, I live in St Albans.  We're neighbours!  Tell me - are you in a band?  I need a band to play in and I play drums and bass.

    Peace

  3. Selling gear is cleansing.
Buying stuff gives me a bit of a kick, but I sometimes get to a point where I wonder why I got that particular thing. Just shifting an electro acoustic (no idea why I got that at all), a small guitar amp (same) and a random bass I don't use or need. Out with the old, less is more, quality up, volume down... and all that.
Let's see how long this lasts then :)

  4. The Total Watts bit on my profile now says "69 Excellent" which isn't in the least bit funny.

well that worked then :) On 78 now. Is 78 actually physically possible?

Like the school report by the way. 'Shameful waste of ... what we all ask: talent?, teacher's time?, a life?

  5. Just bought my first ever black bass...I know, amazing.

Edit: realised that I had a black Jaydee for a (very short) while - think I only played it a couple of times though.

  6. Revisiting playing with a pick on my P bass. Not called a Precision for nothing!  'The boys are back in town'. I'm using the really thick injection molded ones, 50p each from London Guitar Studio - but you can't slot them between the s'plate and body at the top which is where a pick belongs.

I too missed black out entirely, until a few weeks ago. Acquired a Precision and a few weeks later a Jazz, both black. Nothing against black, just never came my way. 2 the same is confusing though.

Hi, excellent place, been here about 3 weeks and bought a chorus pedal, got loads of advice on headphone amps, various basses etc. You'll enjoy!
