  1. Very true @ped
  2. I find especially with BD's website not being great I call if i want to buy something from them. Shouldnt have to, but for me its not a bad experience.
  3. I think you mean for you, some people might not feel the same, due to personal preference or medical conditions. I don't mind the phone for some things, but I generally call prepared with a pad and pencil to write stuff down.
  4. I can only go on my experience, I called bass direct last week to purchase a zoom b6. Before the call had ended I had my email receipt, invoice and shipping email.
  5. I love my V7 Gen 2 five string. Didnt really enjoy the pre-amp, so swapped that out for a Fender one I had lying about, now very happy with it. I think this is one to slowly mod over time into a great gigging bass. Jonny
  6. Synth you say...yeah theres one here...cheap and lovely Jonny
  7. Bump for a fantastic pre-amp and drive pedal....it doesn't just go low down and dirty though. Jonny
  8. Thank you....Its a little too late for me I have picked something else up to try a different direction....Zoom b6 is incoming
  9. That is easily my favourite colour of stingray. Lovely bass
  10. Hi up for sale is my Darkglass bk7 ultra, v2 with the aux input. Great piece of kit which I’m simply not using these days. Comes with the box. Delivery not included in the price but can be arranged at the buyers expense. jonny
  11. Bump for a Friday Synth feeling, bargain price for a pedal that makes some incredible noises....
  12. Chatted it through with the Guitarist, he had already signed us up for the gig, putting himself under a big bit of pressure. I didn't know the gig was definite, so I apologised, he thinks he told me, I cant recall that. Told him how it was handled made me feel disposable and I'll do the gig as I won't leave him or the band hanging, but Im not sure about going forward. I'll be keeping an eye during the practices and after. I'm either an employee of the band leader and will happily do as Im told and get paid for my work or I'm an equal member and get a say, or they can find someone else...all depending on how the vibe is with a new guitarist that is.. Cheers for the input guys....bands eh, who needs them??? Never fall out with backing tracks
  13. that is lovely, by far my favourite overwater design. I'd love to hear how it sounds jonny
  14. True, and as mentioned if I was unavailable for the gig, or asked privately I would have felt differently. But maybe it’s me being too sensitive
  15. I've used deps and been a dep, totally happy with that, never seen or been in a band where the person themselves isnt asked and everyone else in the band is. If I wasnt able to make the gig (which i can) and he'd have taken me aside and said "how would you feel about a dep for the gig?" thats different from the proposal of since you dont agree with me we will look at the solution of getting a stand in, at least I think it is or am i being too sensitive?
  16. I use all of those formats, spotify is good to get a taster of bands etc or learning covers, I stream and buy through bandcamp and I buy Vinyl from small indy stores or bandcamp too. Jonny
  17. Sorry I've possibly put this across incorrectly. Guitarist was trying to organise rehearsals while telling us all there wasnt enough time to do enough. I asked why we were doing the gig. "exposure" was the answer, guitarist announces he's leaving the band after the gig so it will be his last. So I ask again why are we doing it we have no replacement, again Im told "exposure" I ask whats the value in exposure for a band with no guitarist, thats when the whole band are told we can move forward with a replacement bass player.
  18. I see it more as a community, usually with valuable insight into music, life, gear etc with a fair amount of nonsense thrown in for amusement.
  19. So when discussing the fact we have a relatively short period of time to practice for a gig, and looking at available times for practices. I questioned why we were going ahead with the gig, tbh there isnt much in it for the band. The message I got was lets just get on with it theres not allot of time etc...eventually the message goes out, if we have to we will get a replacement bass player. So Im now left feeling utterly disposable. There's a shed load of reasons why this comment came out later, too much drama to go into, but do i just accept it as a one of those ill thought out comments or am i right to think "Whats the point of playing in this band?" I really don't know which way to go with it..so I thought I'd ask the hive mind Jonny
  20. Bump, grab yourself some very reasonably priced synthey goodness.
  21. For sale, boss SYB5. Keep trying it out but never really finding a use for the sounds with a band. Fab sounds can be had by adding an expression pedal too. No box but will post (well packaged) at the buyers expense.
  22. Beautiful
  23. Not really given this line of thinking is the whole remit for PPI claims. Selling you insurance you can’t use isn’t allowed. If you have packed the item appropriately, tell them what’s on the parcel and they then tell you to insure it, they have accepted the liability over and above the T&C’s. The hard part would be proving it was packed appropriately and the timing of you telling them what’s in the parcel before they recommend it. If they don’t recommend, then it’s on you. Bear on mind this is just my view though. It would also be FCA/FOS before small claims too.
  24. I think what’s also worth asking is does anyone find it a deal breaker? Is it a line they can’t cross, if they can’t can they share why not? this might help with your chat and reaching the right answer for your orchestra.
  25. Interesting this..if you tell them before you insure it that it’s an instrument and they recommend you insure it, I’d say theres a case the “sales agent” has accepted liability outside the product T&C’s.
