1. Nice bass but you need to move this to the gear for sale section How much you asking for?
2.
Glad you're enjoying the bass mate! Just had another look at the V1004DX and I'm sorely tempted. Expect to see a Spector Legend 5 up for sale tomorrow morning!
Cheers i am enjoying it. I also had a look at yur band's music on the web. They sound good.
3. Great Review and great photos. I've got a vintage V940 I bought of another bass chatter and I love it. It's infinitly better than the cheap fender copy I first bought. The guy that teaches me bass makes bass guitars and has played it. He can get much better sounds out of it than me and he thinks I've got a bargain. I'm now thinking about another bass and this looks more of a bargain than somehting like a rockbass corvette which is the other I quite like.
4. Where is that lotery win when you need one?
5. Hi Welcome to the forum. I've only been playing for 2 years and I'm loving it. I found the forum is great for getting an idea about the price of gear and what to buy but I've not used it for theory. Hope work wasn't too hard. Cheers Pete
6. Welcome from Cumbria Pete

8. Thats it. I'm convinced. I'm off to start my own band!
9. Hi Alex, I've not bought anything yet, but I certainly wish i'd waited to buy a new amp until I was a member here. There are some real bargains in the gear section. It's also great to get help and tips from other people as most here have either done it, bought it or seen it before. Enjoy! pete
10. Thanks for all the replies. This is great information. I've just read the thread about the build of the Taitycaster from start to finish and it looks a fine bass. If anyone hasn't read this thread it its well work a read. I'm so impressed that I've pursuaded my wife that it would be a good 50th birthday present for me next year. (Long time planning I know but t least there's time to save up) I've e mailed Shuker for details of courses, but I'd have to do the 5 person one as the 1:1 course is out of my price range. I'm a bit nervouse about having to carve the neck by hand as I'd be worried about it just coming out a mess. I'm also nervous about how the fret slots are cut as I imagine it's easy to make a mess of the fretboard. If it comes off I'll post photos. Cheers Pete
11. I read the cutom build diaries and looked at the photos of the Shuker basses and thought they looked great so I had a look at the Shuker web site. I really like the idea of buidling my own bass but I've no where to build it at home so the 5 day course looked like a reasonable idea. However, the web site gives no details of prices and says that you gat the option to build one of five guitars (hardy custom I know). I wondered if anyone here had done the course and if so what they thought of the bass produced at the end and the cost? Any photos would be good if you have any. Ta Pete
12. Welcome to the forum. As your wife plays does that mean you have less problems when you suffer from GAS?
13.
My names Jon and i've been playing bass going on 4 years, nothing compared to how long most of you seem to have been playing for!
Thats twice as long as me!! Welcome to the forum

17.
Here's a pair of bumps: This can make it's way to Harrogate if you're interested in checking it out. The bass not the bumps!! Peter
Have another Bump on me they're worth it.

19. Hi Andy and welcome I only took up bass 2 years ago at 46 after my 9 year old son got one for his birthday and I started to have lessons to encourage him. His bass is sold now but I carried on and I now play with a group of mates who have all been playing for years. We've played in a frieds cafe and at a village hall and we have a third live "gig" (I suppose it counts playing all night in front of 150 people) at another friends party. I'm not that good but I get so much enjoyment out of playing live with others. Even though i prefer different music to them it's still worth findng someone to play with. Like you I keep wishing I'd done it years ago but I intend to keep going now. Pete
20. Bad news I'm afraid, The guy at the school only teaches kids and doesn't know of anyone who would want to go to Newby bridge. Pete
21. Hi I live near Kendal so I could collect from Barrow. Have you a rough price in mind and do you know what make the body is?
22. We've just found a drummer to come and play with us and the volume has increased, hence the move to the pavillion in Stavely but we were looking for one for a while before we found one. I know there are people that teach drums to local kids in the secondary schools and they may know of someone older who might be willing to travel. The guy that teaches me works at one of the school so I'll ask if he has any contacts. Pete
23. Sunny Cumbria???? It must be a different Cumbria to the one I live in. Anyway Hi and welcome. Goo to see another cumbrian adding to the forum. I 'm based in Staveley near Kendal and I get together with friends every Thursday in the pavillion to practice.
