3.
http://youtu.be/keS5NltUvbk
yeah totally forgot about this. .. Another total slap fest??
 4.
+1. I was interested to see how many top players were influenced by JB and not just us mere mortals. MK's take on such a famous riff was just paying homage to it. I thought the whole programme was great, even misery guts Ginger Baker's take on things was interesting.
totally agree mate for the record around 92/93 level 42 used to play a cover of sunshine of your love and I'm so glad in their live set.. sunshine was an uptempo slap fest and it was ace! !
 5.
I was being or trying to be humorous . However i must admit i did roll my eyes a little.
fair enough. . You tried I'm a massive L42/MK fan and not ashamed to admit it. . When I saw him on the JB documentary I immediately thought. .. Here we go. . Let's see how long it takes for a mention on basschat... Not long
 6.
Great documentary. But i came on here to complain about Mark King (who i really like) turning up and slapping sunshine of your love, as he would. Can that man just not play a bass normally. Im reminded of the righteous brothers Paul Whitehouse and Harry Enfield sketch. But with me saying "I like Mark King he is a great guy and an awesome player". "But if he picked up my bass and started slapping, i would say Oi Mr King Nooo!, i understand you've built a career on your thumb, but can you just play normally and give him a slap".
I've been waiting on the first Mark King related post on this. . Well done. . You won (or lost) He slapped it because that's what he's renowned for and that was his tribute to that bassline?.. He was on screen what. .15 secs?... hardly whinge material was it?

 11.
A real influence for me back in the Humble Pie days. I used to frequent a club called the Hunting Lodge near Aspatria. Knew some girls from Egremont and Cleator Moor
I bet you did you dirty man

 13.
Immigration officers work in mysterious ways it seems. My brothers goddaughter - British - met a lad whilst at college in the USA, and they were engaged after 2 years of dating. She finished Uni inn the USA and came home, and he followed later, for a 4 week holiday, before he needed to return to the US to take up a coveted job at the Uni as a teaching assistant. Arrives at Heathrow wearing a Premier League football shirt and carrying a rucksack, gets pulled in for interview. Explains the situation - engaged, holiday, staying with fiancee's family, has a job he has to go back to take up etc. They searched his stuff, then quizzed him on how much money he had with him, and he showed them his £500 in cash. Result : You can't survive on £500 for 4 weeks, so straight back on the plane home. Not allowed to call fiancee who was waiting in arrivals about 100 yards away, no attempt to contact her parents (who were with her) to confirm that he was indeed their guest and would need no money for hotels etc. 2 hours later he was back on the plane home (and denied entry to the UK for 12 months I believe). That was 7 years ago. They are now married and live in the USA, where she is a citizen. Clearly, we can all suggest there must be more to it, but I can assure all readers, he's the nicest, straightest, cleverest, most honest lad, and least likely 'dodgy tourist' you could hope to meet. Doesn't even drink or smoke and has very respectful 'southern' manners and certainly wouldn't have given them any lip. All a bit random, but thats how it works it seems.
Ah... But was he a level 42 fan?
 14.
And if I were a customs officer and you turned up saying you were going to a Hendrix gig, I'd let you in.
Cheers mate. . Nice to know
 15.
Don't they call it a 'jazz hat' at a Level 42 gig?
You here all week?
 16.
LOL!.. Something seems a little off though. And what young lass says there fav band is L42???. If i was a customs officer, i would of been like no way!. I think if she had been coming over to see a modern band with a younger audience she would of got in.
I'm a big hendrix fan. . He died 4 years before I was born
 17.
Brilliant idea. Let's all take sides without knowing all the facts and have a heated debate!
not heated for me. .. Couldn't care less either way to be honest. . Harsh possibly but my true thoughts.
 18.
The first sentence , ' young teenager..,,'. Now she is supposed to be 23? It's all Greek to me.
her Facebook/twitter (cant remember which? ) account says she's 23
 19. If she was legally entering the country then it's unfair and extremely harsh. . If she was illegally entering then fair play and unlucky. . Either way it's happened and can't be undone. . End of story
 20. She's 23 I believe. .. I was at the York gig last night. . Great gig. .. That don't help her but I enjoyed it
