1.
There is some great stuff being listed. My contribution is The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Axis: Bold As Love This was the first bit of Hendrix I ever listened to. As a kid I had heard he was meant to be a great guitarist and in the very early 80s I bought a second-hand album off a school mate of Axis + Are You Experienced? When I got it home I put Axis on first, and started listening to the opening track EXP. I remember thinking to myself what the hell have I bought. The first track of noise and feedback was then followed by Up From The Skies. The contrast was mind blowing. I wish I could un-listen to it all just to experience it again.
probably my favourite Hendrix album. .. If 6 was 9... perfection
 2. Mcvicar soundtrack. .. Great movie great soundtrack

 5. Fantastic. I've got his debut album. That's also fantastic
 6. Unfortunately I'll probably be quitting playing for good. .. trying to get a band happening here in Carlisle has took me the best part of 6 years (since getting back into it again) and I just can't make anything worthwhile happen. .. plus I doubt I'd have the flexibility to gig that much with my shift work so looks like that's it. . Fed up with trying. . The hassle... The pillocks... The timewasters... Just fed up be thankful if you've got something going. . Good or bad. . And hang onto it Craig

 15.
Nah, don't do that. I am sure the OP might appreciate (along with other Basschatters) a wide selection and differing opinions of what Jazz/Funk is, sounds like. Music ain't it? On a Musicians site. Otherwise I wouldn't have got to hear that Fred Wesley track you posted.
THIS
 16.
Funk it is then but that's a million miles away from Rock Candy Funk Party who don't seem to have a funky bone in sight to me.
I class them as a bit funky.... It's hard to categorise them I suppose. .. What I suppose I actually meant was can you recommend me more music in the style of Rock candy funk party
 17. I maybe didn't mean jazz funk then. ..probably more just funk. ... anything of that vibe was what I meant
 18.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=co3FzW89EpY How about this
love it

 20.
I wouldn't say that RCFP are Jazz/Funk more like just doing what Steve Morse and loads more were doing 30+ years ago. Jazz/Funk is a different thing altogether.
yeah probably right. . Whatever genre it is I love it
 21. After having recently got into rock candy funk party I'm itching to discover some new music of the same vibe. .. Anyone got any suggestions. .. Old/new.. whatever Cheers
 22.
I like 'em too. Mike Merritt also plays in the house band for one of the US late night chat shows. Look on the Premier Guitar website for the Jimmy Vivino rig rundown to see Mike talking about his gear. He's the son of jazz bassist, Jymie Merritt.
Cheers great player
