2. She didn't like it one bit, sorry mate. What speakers and front ends do you use?
3. Oh my God!!!! The Wife ain't gonna like what I'm about to ask her. Don't hold your breath Marc.
4.
Here's a nice little number that I picked up from a really nice guy in Scotland yesterday. This isn't my photo, I hope Alex doesn't mind me putting it on up here. I'll have to wait until tomorrow before I can play it properly through an amp. It was built for a guy called Thom Boyle, and was originally pearl pink before being changed to white. I'm going to have John Diggins refinish it, possibly keeping it white and I fancy a change of the neck inlays. I spoke to John a couple of weeks ago and he quoted me a great price for doing this. Anyone know how to date them from the serial numbers ? Here's a nice clip of Mark King with his 'Star child' bass. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=psxMt0CN5lM
Hi Kev, thanks for that clip, amazing. I first saw them at the Royal Court, Liverpool in 1983, they where totally and utterly amazing, Phil Gould is one of the best drummers in the world. I think he taught Kingy so much and it's great to see that he's performing again.

6. Minor or major 3rd?
7.
Claber - you leap into so many threads/posts of mine, to take a personal pop at me. Clearly life circumstances/choices never change! You're another one of the assumption brigade, you do it so well. Pity you can't invest your energies where they really matter. You never add anything of any value. You are boring. Earth is full, go home.
Claber.
8.
+1 Nice distracting thread this.
I know, I've got the morning off, so I really should be playing my bass, or working on the arrangement of the song we were doing at rehearsals last night instaed of troll baiting.
9.
Stop spending money on beer and save for some lessons.
Wrong, this was my first reply.
10.
Yeah - cheapskate = work out the euphemisms here, redundant, broke, f*cked - whatever else you can think of. Knob.
That's 2 knobs and a prick so far, any advance?
11.
In true cheapskate style, I'm looking for some freebie bass lessons. Last time I checked my pockets, there were dead flies in there haha, so no chance of any coinage appearing for anyone mad enough to offer me some free bass lessons, but I might stretch to a beer. In some cheap rathole. HAHA. I'm crap, but ultra enthusiastic and hardworking.
.....errr, first line of your post, dim wit.
12. Good God man, have you taken leave of your senses? what are you gunning for after you've sold these?
13. I totally agree that the world should not only be about money but if you are trying to pay bills and make ends meet....
14. Strip the system back to the basics, mixer, amp, speakers, bypassing any PC's/audio interfaces (if you use them), then plug the extension into the same outlet. Systematically check all your cables, mixer channels etc. Are these active or passive monitors?
15.
It's tough enough earning a good living as a fulltime musician without people going around offering a valuable service for nothing! A good teacher is worth paying for. Alex
I certainly don't teach for free, I charge a very resonable rate to my pupils and I love doing it. I use the years of hard work, resarch and knoweledge that I have accumulated over the years and then try to impart this in a relaxed friendly manner to my pupils. Nothing is free in life and anything worthwhile should carry a premium. I'm certain Alex loves the research and construction of his speaker builds but I certainly wouldn't have the gall to ask for a freebie.
16. Troll. You been outed as a Troll, end of.
17. .....and we're off again. I could say, stop being the Basschat troll but I won't.
18. Glad to be of service.
19. Nice one Cyril.
20. Stop spending money on beer and save for some lessons.
21. Ampeg is the "Soma" of bass amplification.
22. Jazz is the deeply misunderstood child of music. It throws it's toys out of the pram, answers you back but like all good children, returns to you, when as an adult, you fully understand them. There is the paradox. Jazz is in everything, music, art, film, words, day to day conversations, random thoughts......
23.
To me, he doesn't make music, he creates platforms for his technique. Bit of a monk thing goin' on there.
I was being very harsh there. Victor, I apologise.
24.
One of my favourite songs ever has Wooten on it. PLEASE check this out: http://www.last.fm/music/India.Arie/_/Summ...tor+Wooten%2529
I'd completely forgoten about that, I'm covered in goose pimples, I love that song and the album was the soundtrack to my wife and I meeting.
