I’ve had some interesting discussions on a few reggae forums about who played the bass on certain tracks on Bob Marley albums, i said it was Aston Barrett, but some disagreed and said it was Val Douglas, I know val has played with many famous reggae artists at some point or another , but none could show me any proof. he also played bass for the Skatalites.

  14. That’s brilliant lonestar, it still works you know, a friend of mine took it off the wall a few years ago and plugged it in, the jack was really crackly, but it plays 😁
  15. Cheers for that, I’m not familiar with him but I just had a quick look , he’s quite a player 👍, I don’t play it every day but it’s good fun to get out now and again, makes a change from my jazzes, it’s got a nice sound 🙂

  17. A little update, I tried everywhere to get the truss rod cover with no luck, so as someone suggested I bought a 100mm square piece of brass for £5 and cut one out to shape just to cover the hole, I’ve just got to get some small brass screws next time I’m at the workshop

  20. I’ve got 2 jazzes permanently fitted with D’Addario tapes, great strings
