    Pretty sure I’ve read before that lemon oil is not good for maple boards, it’s mainly for the rosewood and darker ones

    Good description Paul, that’s how I found it, playing reggae it really sounded better than the stock pickup , I also had the cap changed in my P to a 0.1 I think, to give me an even warmer sound , I get really nice lows now

    I suppose we are all different but I quite like some wear on the early fenders, my 71 has been heavily played and it shows it, but not abused, I looked at one that was mint condition and although it was really nice it seemed to lack any character, I don’t like it when the necks have damage though

    Looks like it could be a nice project and if all is well with the neck and body I don’t think £1500 is too bad

    I’ve got the tonerider in one of my precision’s Paul , it was big improvement on the standard mex P pickup, a lot cleaner sounding especially in the lows and highs, can’t remember what I paid but it wasn’t very expensive
