    I’m used to heavy bass with reggae and dub but after listening to slipknot through headphones I needed a few paracetamol 😁

    I’ve had Beats Studio since they first came out and I’ve got the studio 3 now, I’ve never had any problems with any of them and that’s heavy use, they are pretty hard wearing , the solo ones can be a bit flimsy though imo

    I won’t have any amp now with a fan that’s why I only use valve amps, but I have kept my RM500 because it’s such a great amp and it’s almost silent, there’s a thread here that might help , don’t know if you’ve seen it

    My eldest is the same, he likes his reggae but also slipknot, I learned one of their basslines to show him, bit heavy for me 😁

    or don’t buy bright sounding flats, I asked Sean Hurley about his strings once and he does use Vaseline to dull down new flats

    I did buy a fender jazz once that was very sticky, but judging by the flat it was down to Chinese take away’s, kebabs, pizza and KFC, it did need a good clean 😁

    I’ve only got one bass with a painted neck and that’s my Hohner B2A , I’ve played it for a few long sessions and it’s surprisingly not sticky at all, which being painted I thought it would, they are quite rounded but very comfortable

    Bilbo helped me out with some transcribing I was having difficulty with last year , he took the time out to help me which was much appreciated , really nice guy, I hope he’s just taking a break from things and nothing is wrong 🙂

    I used to have the TE 15’s , super deep bass and really good cabs, probably classed as heavy now compared to some
