I believe the Line 6 xx4 modeller pedals can run on either AC or DC. As long as it's getting 9V and enough mA, it should be fine.
Excellent. That puts my mind at rest. Rich
it says the DL4 runs off batteries. Is the mains adaptor for it AC or DC? Does it tell you on the back of the case? Most pedals will not have a transformer built in, they will rely on the transformer being in the adapter plug. If so, then you need to check if it is -ve tip or +ve. Jonnyshredfreak.com sell polarity-swapping connectors so you can get round that too.
It does run off batteries. The power supply says AC-AC. Input AC 230V 50Hz, Output 9V AC 2000mA. And it is +ve tip.
Rich, theres plenty of ebay outlets selling multi-adaptor power supplies in daisy chains with different plug sizes - don't have to pay crazy diago rip-off prices. I just bought one from effectpowersupplies.com. 6 outlets 9v in either 2.1 or 2.5mm barrels and about £16.
Oh yeah - £30 for a 3000mA one! http://www.effectpowersupplies.com/stompbo...chain-696-p.asp My worry though, is the AC/DC thing - is there something that says if you plug a AC-DC supply into an AC pedal (the DL4) that it will work, but not the other way around. Otherwise I can't see how it would work.

Is it possible to power a Line6 DL4 and other 9V pedals like Boss etc from the same power supply? The DL4 needs 2000mA, so that pretty much means it would have to be a Diago Powerstation or something similar. But the power supply I have for my DL4 is AC-AC 9v, while the other pedals would need AC-DC. Does that make sense? Diago suggest there's an adaptor here: http://www.diago.co.uk/component/page,shop...art/Itemid,206/ But again, that says it outputs on 2.5mm barrel plug, but the power supply I have for my DL4 is 2.1mm. A bigger 2.5mm plug won't even fit in the pedal. Don't want to go and buy one if it's just a waste of money. Cheers Rich

Hi Al, Thanks for the suggestions. This problem is with a Green Big Muff clone I was also making. I started it years ago, and picked it up again recently, mainly just as practice while I was waiting for all the bits to arrive for my Reverb. The board's a little more complicated than the reverb, but I think I've found the area the sound stops going through the board, using the probe method. I'll keep trying though. Rich
Corrected link.
That's amazing! Thanks for sharing. I haven't made one yet, but it looks like such a useful thing, I'm surprised no on has made one commerically! Or have they?

I'm trying to make a Sovtek Big Muff from a tonepad board/project, and I've soldered it all together. The true bypass works, as sound goes through that way, but nothing when I click the switch. Currently it's not assembled in the case, but should it work if I just plug in all the cables without it in the enclosure, or is there some kind of grounding issue that could cause it to not work? Thought I'd ask incase that's something I should try! It all appears to ground to the input jack socket - one from the board itself, one from the switch, one from the output socket and one from the DC socket. Rich

OK - I expect they're the exact same thing we get here, just direct from the factory? Thanks Rich

Hope this is the right forum. Anyone know of anywhere to get 3PDT footswitches in the UK inexpensively? They seem to be £4.50/£5 everywhere I've seen - is that good? Cheers Rich

Al, The PCB arrived safe and sound today - looks great. I'll let you know how I get on. Thanks again Rich

Great! Let me know how you get on. Rich

Of course, don't let it cost you anything - just let me know what I owe you.

Hi Al, That would be awesome if you could give it a go. The layout is in a PDF in the original post - let me know if that's too tricky to do by hand or anything. I have emailed GGG, but had no reply yet - so it may be that they say it will be back in stock within a couple of weeks, in which case there's no point you going to all the trouble. Here's a link to the page of information I'm working from http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/index....3&Itemid=75 Cheers

Hi, Does anybody know of anywhere that will make a PCB with all the holes/copper printed on from a diagram? Or if anybody knows how to do it themselves and will help me out. I want to try my hand at making one of the General Guitar Gadgets Stage Centre Reverbs, but they are out of stock of the board. It looks really interesting as you plug in a separate spring reverb to get your sound. Just thought I'd let you all know, as I had such a good experience getting my Electro Harmonix Bass Synth repaired. I just searched google until I found someone who looked good, and found out Martin Owen of Owen Electronics carries out repairs. http://www.owenelectronics.co.uk/ (also makes some very nice looking bass overdrives!) Anyway. My bass synth had some dodgy wiring at the input/output jacks as the jack sockets had never stayed tight from the day I bought it. It also had two snapped sliders, which were still useable but I said to replace them if the parts were sourceable. He got back to me within a few days of receiving it with a well laid out estimate of everything that he could do, with prices for each section of the work, and even suggested he could make it True Bypass for me, which was a bonus. I've just received the pedal back and it's in perfect working order again, an excellent job, and he even managed to find the little white caps for the sliders for me. Highly recommended - I would definitely send him my stuff again. Rich
