1. Love it! The bass is quite nice too... 😀 GLWTS
2. A great For Sale ad for a great bass! At a very, very fair price too... These sound fantastic IMHO, so can't imagine one of this vintage with this much mojo will be around for long. GLWTS
3.
I rather liked the Portuguese fellow's appeal at the end for a return to 'music'..! He's not wrong, in my view;

In the midst of all the opprobium and 'too cool for skool' stuff above, I thought the winner was refreshingly different and sung with feeling and passion.
+ 1 on both points!
4.
Nice
+1 Good price too considering the upgrades etc.. GLWTS
5.
Just a +1 for £250 for pubs. Sky's the limit for other bookings though and you play pubs to get other bookings. Take business cards, have a good online presence and talk to punters after shows.
Totally agree with this too.. Even doing local festivals for free is a good way of raising the band's profile.
6.
The realities of pub gigs are pretty harsh and the money hasn't really changed in all the years I've ever done it. The main problem is establishing yourself so that the band can earn the bigger fees. Similarly, the number of band members will not affect the fee either. I used to gig in your patch a lot, with a band that was very popular on that circuit. Pretty much every single venue we played has now gone so I have nothing to offer beyond good wishes. You are pretty much left to do the slog of playing places and building up a following as we have all done in the past. A new band (no matter who is in it - and I mean your past glories on the scene) is a new band and has to start again. Once you have got your foot on the ladder then you can improve things on the money front but there isn't a short cut to that unhappily. You are not going to get any more than £250 and I would be surprised if you got even that to begin with. I would have put the initial figure somewhere between £150 and £200. One slightly off-piste suggestion would be to try and get yourselves over to Europe. Much better experience, you get paid, fed and watered and people want to be entertained. They don't stand with their arms folded and dare you to impress them.
+1 to all of this Steve. My last covers band had a pretty good reputation across Sussex, but we never got more than £300 for a pub gig in the 8 years I played with them. The pub gigs often led to wedding and birthday party bookings though, where we could charge a much more lucrative fee. My view these days is that I'm just happy to play live and make music, so as long as I'm not out of pocket, I'm happy. I think Steve's absolutely right about gigging abroad; my experience there has always been positive - better venues, better facilities for the band, better money and much more appreciative audiences. To the OP - good luck with you new band!
7.
In the case of the Longpigs, Richard Hawley played with Pulp for a bit before embarking on a very successful solo career. He's made some cracking records.
+1 Coles Corner is a brilliant album. I always wished Magazine had lasted longer, though 4 albums in 4 years is a pretty good turnout. Their first album 'Real Life' is a particular favourite of mine and still gets played - loud and often!
8. Two great basses at very good prices! The JO5, with upgraded p/ups, Audere pre plus a hard case, is a lot of bass for the money.. Love the colour and the block inlays on the neck too.. IIRC, it wasn't so long ago that Laklands commanded a much higher price on this forum. Anyway, who ever decides to buy either of these should be a happy bunny! GLWTS
9. Congratulations! I recently did my first rehearsal on an unlined fretless, and found that scary enough, but a first gig on upright is risk-taking (musically speaking) on a completely different level.. Maximum respect to you, sir...
10. Need to get this sold, so price dropped to £50...
11. Welcome Ash, No idea what a Mass Spectrometer is but I guess it's pretty complicated.... Given that, it sounds like you have the right skills and mindset for your bass rebuild project though, so good luck with that and enjoy your time here on BC! Nik
12. Wow! 😯 Steve - what are you doing?? These cabs are amazing... I think I've heard this in action at either the West Sussex 2014 Bash or one of the South East Bashes; an absolutely fantastic sounding cab! Anyway, as tempting as it is, I must resist as I've recently bought a new lightweight cab! Whoever buys this though, will not be disappointed.. GLWTS
13. Lovely looking bass Steve! GLWTS
14. In Littlehampton, West Sussex, about 20 miles east of Brighton.
15. Fantastic piece of kit! I have the WT400 and it's so good in terms of tone, power and features, but this is even better IMO. In particular, having two separate power amps that allow you to bi-amp your output signal, and adjust the balance between the two is so useful... Anyway, GLWTS.
16. Just had a really easy transaction with Dan, who's bought a Tecamp 115 XS cab from me. Super fast payment, great comms and a genuine pleasure to deal with! Another absolute credit to this forum, so deal with in confidence folks.. 👍 Many thanks Dan. - hope you enjoy the cab! 😊 Nik
17. Price drop BUMP. Now looking for £65 or near offer for this cab. Thanks 😊
18. Hi Folks Continuing my clear out of bass cabs, here for sale is an Ashdown RM-MAG- 212T, 350 watt, 8 Ohm Bass Cab for sale in reasonable condition that I'm asking NOW SOLD for. I've replaced it with a lighter weight cab, hence why it's up for sale, but it's quite a nice sounding cab for not too much money! It's not as capable of the extended highs and lows of the Ashdown ABM 212 cab that I've just sold on here, but it's still a sweet sounding cab nonetheless. In the interests of full disclosure, when I got this about a year ago, the cab was making a bit of a rattling or vibration noise when playing certain bass notes, but I've since put some acoustic dampening materials in the cab and that seems to have pretty much cured it... Here's a photo and a link to some more photos here: https://flic.kr/s/aHskU4QXo3 And here's the tech spec for this cab from Ashdown: "Loaded with custom Ashdown drivers for exceptional attack, clarity and low-end performance, Rootmaster cabinets are engineered for performance and reliability. Rootmaster cabs are now sealed creating an infinite baffle for smoother low end response and faster attack. Solid construction is paired with hard-wearing vinyl coverings, protective corners, tough grille cloths and vibration-reducing rubber feet, a combination that delivers powerful sound and hard-wearing longevity that'll stand up to years of use. Rated at 350W (8 ohms), the RM-MAG-212T packs a powerful, defined and gutsy punch through twin Ashdown 12" speakers and a single HF tweeter. Equally, I'd be happy to post it at your expense, though it might not be very economical to do that as it weighs over 60 lbs... Thanks for looking and if you've any questions, please feel free to message me Nik
19.
Musicians performing live on TV is good.
+2 There are very few opportunities for musicians to perform live on TV shows these days as it is; the ones that are there need to be supported and encouraged as much as possible.
20. Now SOLD. Thanks for all the interest folks..
