1. Thanks Pete. Appreciate the help.
2. Hey guys, can I come to this? Just saw the sticky note! I'm in Macclesfield. I've got a 5 string Shuker, a Paul Everson 4 string, some Phil Jones bass stuff and a yammy SLB100 I can bring to the party?
3. Hi guys, Was wondering if anyone could give me any advice on this bass? Im thinking of moving it on and I've got no idea what it's currently worth. I bought it about 10 years ago from Colin Cross in Buxton. I think I paid about 1800 quid for it at the time. It has had a fairly huge repair in the front. I bought a new expensive bag with wheels and it fell over :S. I probably wouldn't have paid for the repair as it was a big one. My uncle builds violins and did it for me. It split from the f hole upwards, horrible. You can see the pics here of the repair. Any advice would be gratefully received! Andy
4. Hi everyone, I'm posting this story because it reinforces what a close-nit community that we musicians, and in particular, bass players are. Some of you might have noticed recently I advertised on basschat a lovely Paul Everson Caiman bass for sale. I acquired the bass through a trade about a year ago with a guy who advertised it on Facebook. We met in a service station. I swapped a very nice 4 string Shuker bass for the Everson, had a nice chat with the fella who bought it and returned home. Whilst we were talking the lad confessed to me that he had found the Everson Bass in one of those second hand chain stores that have 'cash' in the title. He knew next to nothing about basses but had liked the look of it and bought it. He then tracked down Paul Everson on Facebook to get some info about the bass. I loved the bass. It appeared to have been treated quite badly. The electrics were shot and it was covered in a weird thick dust. I had it cleaned, sorted and set up and quickly picked up another Everson that appeared on Facebook. That was around a year ago. I recently decided to sell the caiman. Id always had a little niggle in the back of my head about 'Cash _________' and wondered if I'd been a little naieve in my trust. So to put my mind at ease I contacted Paul (Everson) who told me he had sold the bass through the great British bass lounge. I then contacted Drew who was running the lounge and asked them both if any Everson basses had been reported stolen. They both did some digging and came back with a resounding no. Drew had a record of a sale to a lad called 'Justin' who lived near Bradford (I'm in Macclesfield). So back to present day. After advertising said bass on Facebook and BC I received a message from a lad called Justin who explained to me that this was his bass and that he'd had it stolen in early 2016. I immediately phoned him and we discussed at length what to do. Now the dilemma. Justin hadn't been insured and had lost the bass along with a whole heap of equipment. He had been scouring the Facebook sites to try and recover the bass for the last 2 years. I had essentially swapped a 900 quid Shuker with it. The lad who had bought the bass oringally had moved the Shuker on. We were all victims of crime and it was a difficult puzzle to unravel. Justin had contacted Yorkshire police for advice and they had said it was a civil matter. Anyway the final result is that we met the following week and Justin got his bass back. It was a great end to a saga and needless to say Justin was chuffed! Just a big shout out to Paul Everson and Drew for caring enough about this story to help me with my clumsy detective work and a big shout out to Matthew who contacted me on behalf of (current) BBL. The photo below is of Justin (on the left) recieving his beloved bass back! Moral of the story. Cash ___________ are a store I like even less now and Bass players are awesome folk. Andy

6. I live in Macclesfield but all my family are in Bristol. If you've still got this by the next time I'm down Id really like to see it
7. You're not wrong. It is very light. I'll try and weigh it tomorrow. The only reason I'm selling is because I picked up another of Mr Everson's basses recently and I can't justify keeping both!
8. Yes. You're right. It's the scratchplate! I'll try and add the details you mentioned as well. Cheers
9. Hi everyone. Unfortunately I can't keep this bass. Its totally stunning and lovely to play. I contacted Paul recently and he informed me it's an Ashbody, walnut and maple neck with a pau ferro fingerboard. There's a tiny piece of the fingerboard missing where someone must have tightened the screw too tightly. I've included a pic. Btw check out Paul's Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/eversonguitars/ I'm based in Macclesfield and work in Manchester. You need to come and play this bass to fully appreciate it! Cheers Andy
10. NOW £100 Hi guys. I've got a very unused Pedal Train 2 with hard case (now replaced by the pedaltrain classic). There's a TREX classic power supply which is secured to the bottom of the board with Velcro. There's a couple of small scratches on the case but otherwise it's pretty mint. I'm based in Macclesfield but work in Manchester if anyone wants to come and check it out. I'd also rather not post as it will cost a fortune!

12. Sorted. The socket on the back of the amp wasn’t sitting properly. I unscrewed it, re-sat it and screwed it up. Hey presto...fixed. Thanks everyone for chipping in with useful suggestions and help.
13. Ahhh, right i ordered a 4 pole ‘genuine neutrik’ connector cable And it doesnt fit! How can you tell that its genuine? Really dont want to fork out 90 quid for the Phil Jones Speakon...
14.
Your Suitcase + C4 will be a fine combination. I have two C4s and a 4B (the Suitcase is effectively a 4B with amplification added). The 4B and one C4 makes a great compact rig.
I used to own the old suitcase and a 4b. It was amazing in terms of tone. I got rid of it to save my back muscles and because at the time I needed a bigger rig. I always missed that phil jones clarity though. I'm really looking forward to having the entire rig!
15. Thanks guys. Really appreciate your help
16. Thanks mate, that was my uneducated guess
17. Hi guys, just bought myself a new Phil Jones suitcase combo. Just ordered a C4 extension cab from Thomann and while i was waiting thought i'd check out some old leads to see if I can use my existing speakon cables. Here's my dilemma: tried to plug in a speakon cable to the suitcase amp and it doesn't fit. Well, it fits but doesn't turn to be precise. I thought speakons were speakons were speakons, are there different types with different sizes? any help would be most appreciated! Thanks! Andy
