  1. I think this is the main factor for me. I had a terrible few gigs where I was trying various different fittings, the PA was loud and as my IEMs moved, fell out, got aggressively shoved back in my ear, I think I have damaged my ears. I'm 51 and have had slight tinnitus for a long time (misspent youth playing in thrash metal bands). Since these few recent gigs I've had constant loud ringing in my ears. I'm not sure if it's purely loud volumes or pressure or whatever. Hence the moulds. Think this might be the answer to avoid any further ear related nonsense.
  2. It's tricky for sure. I've tried cheapish shures and then upgraded to Mackie's (still cheap). Unfortunately I ignored my normal mantra of 'buy cheap, buy twice'. I should have just bought the bullet and got IEMs with 3/4/5 or more drivers and custom moulded fits. Bass response just isn't there on the cheaper ones imho and the fittings are inconsistent at best. Probably would have saved myself 500 quid or so, ah well.
  3. Thanks so much for answering this thread guys, I knew I could count on basschatters for decent advice! Just realised after a quick Google that Cosmic ears are just down the road from me as well! Result!
  4. Hi Mike, Do you mean adding ambient mics to avoid that feeling of detachment you get on stage?
  5. Thanks Rosie. I literally just got another recommendation from a friend for the same company. I've been trying out various models. I used the Shure 215s cheapish ones for a bit but for bass they were not great. Upgraded to some Mackie's which were better for bass reference but I've struggled to get them to fit well. I think I've actually hurt my ears by using them, did a LOUD gig just before Christmas and my left IEM kept falling out and I stupidly kept turning up to compensate. Thought the moulded ones might be the solution. 👍🏻👍🏻
  6. Hi all, Just wondered if anyone had any recommendations for IEM custom moulds in the UK? It would be great if I could buy my own IEMs and get custom.moulds. Thanks in adance! ReDD
  7. This is so intriguing, have you got any recordings of it you could share?
  8. Oof. These are like Hen's Teeth. Such a good set up for bass and upright. This gives me serious gas. GLWTS

I worried about the power supply as well. I stood on mine as well! I haven't noticed any wiggle in mine, just went and checked and it's in there pretty tight. Do you get any interference with the power supply? I ended up sticking it on a pedal board with the CIOKS power supply.
  10. Thanks so much for replying guys, really appreciate it! Gonna get myself a set!
  11. Hi everyone, Bass guitarist here who plays upright occasionally. I get maybe 1 or 2 gigs ever couple of months. I try and play at least once a week to keep my hand in but mainly focus on electric bass. I've always used the stock strings that came with my bass (Stentor 3/4). I always quite liked the sound so never really bothered to change them for anything better or just different. 10 years down the line after various dings and repairs the strings have lost their growl that I liked in the first place. Also I'm starting to get more gigs on upright and have found that they are giving my hands a bit of a beating. Can anyone recommend a lighter tension string that still gives a decent growly sound? (Should mention that I don't bow, and play a mix of jazz, folk and blues). Thanks in advance for any help and thanks for reading this long post! Andy
  12. How is this still here? This is an absolute monster bargain. So much amp. I would have this in a shot if I didn't already have one 🤣
  13. Oof that is so nice. If that was a five I'd be on my way to Cardiff right now.
  14. That is gorgeous.
  15. If you don't mind me asking, how did you find the upgrade of the pickups to the stock sound?
  16. Plus 1 for attendance. Macclesfield based.
  17. Oof. Good job you're so far away from me.
  18. Do you have any recordings of it? Don't suppose you ever venture up near Manchester?

Updated last night. Global EQ was the first thing I found, very handy.
  21. Brilliant. Thanks mate!
  22. Thanks everyone. Really appreciated the support. I'm going to go for it 🤦‍♂️
  23. Hi everyone, Not sure if this is the most appropriate place for this post?? Does anyone offer a pedal board building service in or around the NW of England? I love seeing your pictures of slick little temple audio boards with all the extra frills and attachments. I've almost pulled the trigger on the kit a few times but in the cold light of day when I'm honest with myself I have to realised that there is no way I could put one together. I can barely wire a plug. Any recommendations welcome!
