    Watched a video on Youtube by CJ Ramone explaining why his bass hangs so low, he found it the only efficient way to play using only downstrokes. I would think it impossible to play slap with the strap at that length.

    I have been trying the new Dunlop Dual Dynamic strings, they have a stainless wrap with a nickel wrap on top. They have most of the brightness of stainless with nickel outer. Not been on long enough to have an opinion on longevity but I really like the tension and sound.

    I too have menieres and have just started to use IEM. Still getting used to the being separated from the sound but can already feel benefits. May be coincidence but also find taking my meds, betahistine dihydrochloride, at evenly spaced intervals throughout the day is important.

    Always quite liked the Yamaha Samurai and I think they came out in 1967.

    First time out with new band, Aero Twenty, plenty of mistakes, not used to IEM and boiling hot but plenty of positives. People seemed to enjoy it and the pub asked us to sort 2 dates for next year.. Happy with that.

    Arrived from Amazon US earlier than estimated, put them on my Retrovibe Vantage and took that to rehearsal tonight. Liked the Dunlop Superbright that they replace but may just have found my new favourite strings. Lets hope they keep their sound for a nice long time, we'll see.

    I would want drive, fuzz and chorus. Going by GuitarGuitar prices, Ampeg Scrambler or Bass Soul Food Big Muff and Bass Clone, should do it. Enough left for patch cables but hope you already have a tuner.

    They have a Deluxe B stock up for £111 as opposed to their usual £129 so maybe expected price is under £250. Hopefully.

    By the time I saw that this may be for sale you had already bought it! Do you mind telling what you paid? Would give an indication of what to expect the retail price to be. The red one looked especially nice. Well done on your purchase.

    Yep ,got a Peavey International that I really rate and a MAG300 is my home practice kit.

    I paid 60 quid for a Peavey International Series a few years ago and I'm still surprised by how good it is. Looks good too.

    I have read a couple of threads where people have listed the 'go to' songs for a cover band, (Dakota, Sex On Fire etc.)and got to wondering, is there songs that all instincts say should be floor fillers and yet, surprisingly, always fall flat? Interested in people's experience.

    Another one for the list is Bass Centre Groundwound, cheaper than the Rotosound but I much prefer those.

    I own three Retrovibes, I would expect this to be as good.

    Passive , yes. Is this similar to a Varitone? Can't find on Google.
