  1. Thanks both! Reciprocal feelings to you! I've been enjoying both bits of kit!
  2. Had a great trip over to Mark's place at the weekend. Tried, for a good while, and then bought, a Barefaced Big Baby II. Quality tea and cat-bothering was included as part of the service, as well as a lovely chat about all things bass. Thanks for the entertaining morning and the quality cab, Mark!
  3. I found his name and number on the amp tech thread, and have been in touch. I’m taking the poorly little amp to see him when I get the chance. Thanks!
  4. It seems that way. I must say, this sounds like a great way to run your life/business, if you get the chance! No hard feelings at all.
  5. Just in case anyone else finds this thread, Roland Lumby now only does restorations of classic valve amps. He doesn't take solid state work at all.
  6. Alright, thanks Stevie!
  7. My trusty old GK MB 150S is having a bad time. I just tried plugging it into a cab for the first time in a while, and after a few minutes of playing, the output suddenly faded to nothing over the course of a few seconds. It still works out of the built-in speaker, just not the powered output. Can anyone recommend someone in the vicinity of Manchester to take a look at this for me? Ta, Andy.
  8. Forgive me, but I'm not hot on Barefaced naming system. Is this a Gen 3 cab? (I guess I'm asking if BB2 is the Gen 3 version, and BB1 was the Gen 2 version) If so, I could pop by on Sunday for a look, if that would suit you.
  9. To echo what the others have already said, I had a great time. It was great to meet a bunch of bass players with all sorts of backgrounds and interests, and play some really lovely and diverse gear. Thanks all for a great time. See you next year!
  10. For the purposes of the headcount, I'm still planning to come.
  11. Cory Wong, in Manchester next week! Woo!
  12. I just bought an old Sei Original from Simisker. Clear, friendly communication. Patient and helpful while I was over at his place trying out the bass. Provided biscuits including jammy dodgers and caramel chocolate digestives. Would trade again.
  13. I’ll come along. I can bring an EHX bass micro synth, and I might let some folk have a go on the Sei 6 I just bought. Maybe.
  14. I certainly imagined doing more, but long-distance relationships don't work for me.
  15. That is a fantastic looking instrument. And a lot more on his website. Moffat isn't too far of a drive from me. Hmmm....
