I agree with you and I can’t remember who else said it but if Limelight use all genuine Fender parts to make the guitar then surely they can put a Fender logo on it because it is technically a Fender so I’m struggling to see what the problem is!?!
But how would it work if the “fake” guitar is better than the genuine article then doesn’t the buyer “gain” and better instrument, so would that mean that the seller is the one who makes a “loss”
Everyone keeps using the word “Fake” which is not technically the right word to use, you should really use “counterfeit” as that means to try and pass off a “fake” item as the genuine article (ie deception) so that is illegal
All counterfeits are fakes but not all fakes are counterfeits
Some people have spouted the definition of copyright/trademark laws but unfortunately the problem with law is it’s open to interpretation it’s not a black and white thing there is plenty of grey areas
I’ve finally started it now, I’ve cut the headstock and I decided to stain the neck to a walnut-ish colour so I’ve just done that got a few more coats to get on it so it darkens a bit more then flatten it and then clear coat it
Hopefully after Christmas I’ll get started on the body filling and re routing the cavities!?! But I’m going away from the Black body and I’m swaying more towards either Dakota Red (with Cream pickguard) or Aged Vintage White (with Black pickguard) I do like Butterscotch but I’ve seen lots of them done that colour recently?
Ha ha I know what you mean you think you’ve done a good job of something then you look other peoples posts then look at yours again and just think “I could have done that a bit better!!!”
I’m a bit worried now because I’ve just started a 51 p bass build!?! I better up my game a bit and pull something out of the bag!?!
Thanks, when I sprayed the top it came out really orange peel so instead of refinishing it I thought what the hell let’s give it a try and I like the way it’s turned out
It kinda matches my P bass
I had a change of heart and thought I’d give it a go!?!
It’s a bit different!?!
Just got to get a new bone nut and drill out for the controls then string it up
I’ve got two kit builds planned but I might relic the ‘51 P Bass now and veneer the Jazz instead? I know for certain I can’t afford anything near vintage (except maybe the brand “vintage”)
It’s getting there!?! I don’t think it’s looking too bad??
Ive scrapped the pickguard idea it didn’t look right
Hopefully I’ll finish painting it in the next couple of weeks then I just need to get a new bone nut to replace the crappy plastic one and decide where the controls are going?
That’s just white primer on at the mo, it still needs a few more coats and flattening but I’ve gotta get some more white top coat (I prefer using cellulose) then clear coat it, I’m too impatient to use nitro
