  1. Met up with Brian today for a face to face deal on a bass. Excellent communication and a very straightforward deal. He's a gent and I wouldn't hesitate to deal again.
  2. Yes I was pleased with it being one piece. Although I guess there are pro's and con's either way. Making this up as I go along but trying to apply a little logic! I'd think that with multiple pieces in a body you get to eliminate any weakness with grain direction/pattern particularly around horns and obviously cherry picking smaller pieces of wood. I can't help think a single piece of wood would transfer vibrations & resonate more 'true' though. I've seen luthiers charge more for single piece bodies but don't know if this just because one large piece of suitable wood is harder to source. Happy to be corrected and listen to others views on this? When I've asked around this area in the past I kind of get the general answer everything effects the sound but with so many variables seldom are two things the same.
  3. Taken the plunge on my first bitsa build! Was torn between selling a 70's Camel P bass or using the body as a base for a build as I thought it looked a bit special under the trans finish. Starting point was I probably have enough P-bass parts accumulated over the years to knock something together one way or another. I'd decide what level of refinement to take it too as it became clearer the level of finish time/patience meant I could achieve. First thoughts if things feel/look good are Natural body and a Status neck. Stripped it down and had a sand of the body to see what we have, just taken to 120 grit at the moment and more work to do but not unhappy with it as a starting point. Pretty sure it's ash from the grain. Crazy how ideas then start to build! I do like the open pore finish on a couple of Sandberg's I've seen, also tempted with ebonizing. All good fun having a dream and play about.
  4. Funny but I could swear that's my kitchen...... For clarity the pictures with the tiled floor were taken by me for my add when I sold this bass.
  5. £275 on this for the weekend. No takers and I'm thinking of stripping the body and seeing where it takes me.
  6. Cheers man, I am tempted but I want to give BB's a fair go and with 5's also being new to me...... GLWTS @Marky Screen fine looking bass.
  7. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
  8. Yammy BB gas is still growing and also fancy trying a G&L happy to add cash for a L1000
  9. I'd be interested in a trade for a Yamaha BB424X If it comes in sub 9lb and could add cash for a higher end BB.
  10. Si traded/purchased my Lakland 44-64. Great comms leading to an in person deal. Would not hesitate to deal again, gent.
  11. Sold Bill my ACG. Total gent, pleasure to deal with, great comms highly recommended.
  12. I don't think so (but could be wrong). It uses grub screws at the headless end, link to ACG hardware: https://www.acguitars.co.uk/hardware/
  13. Thanks, Just good forum etiquette, passing on the deal.
  14. For sale or trade a rather lovely ACG Border Reiver. Purchased from the gent that is EAD on here, original ad below. The clarity the ACG FB bridge and ACG FB neck pickups offer is fantastic, really open sound. Ergonomics are great, very comfortable to play both standing or seated. Neck has an asymmetric carve so very easy to navigate. You are hard pushed to find a better made bass in this price bracket than an ACG IMHO so price is firm. Overall condition of the bass is excellent, it has mellowed to a more golden colour than the pics suggest. Only moving on as trying to limit myself to 34" scale on 4 strings as I find switching between them easier. Swamp ash body 3 piece maple neck ART American Sycamore finger board SEQ Pre 42mm at nut 3.6kg (on Kitchen scales) Fusion Gig bag Willing to meet for collection following appropriate guidelines of the time within a reasonable distance. The Fusion gig bag is excellent but for insurance on postage I believe it has to be a hard case. I have one I could use but it's huge and heavy so shipping could be expensive. https://www.acguitars.co.uk/project/0310brss4/
  15. Must be very hard to let go. Not sure I could part with mine, they sound absolutely gorgeous.
  16. Bought a Pedal board from Lozz. Great Comms and easy transaction. Highly Recommended.
  17. Pete bought some PUP's from me. Excellent comm's and straightforward deal. It's all true he's a gent.
  18. Nordstrand Power Blade 4. £80 includes UK postage Fitted briefly to one bass using solderless loom so full length uncut wires. Case has little mark by screw hole I've tried to show in pics otherwise excellent condition (no screws).
  19. For Sale Genzler Magellan 350 and bag. £335 plus shipping. Excellent condition, can't find a mark on it. Purchased by me from Andertons in Dec 2019, all original packing, warranty cards and authentic amp bag included. Great sounding amp, only left the house once for a jam, otherwise home use. Well regarded amp and rightly so with the contour A/B being a very useable feature.
  20. Try taking a pic of yours Tom, bet you it turns out this blue colour in the pic..... Teal doesn't seem to show true in photo's. Lovely colour in the flesh.
  21. Sold Bernard my Roscoe. Excellent comm's and very easy to deal with. Wouldn't hesitate to deal with again.
