Wetsuits are not made of Gore Tex!
But suits that are made of Gore Tex are often wet

Oh yeah, that'll work

I'd try all 3 and buy which played and sounded the best. This is what I did when I bought my last P which was a 50s MIM, Roadworn, Lakland Bob Glaub shoot out. The Roadworn won, great basses. FWIW there's one just appeared in the FS section http://basschat.co.uk/topic/195214-fender-mexican-roadworn-precision-fiesta-red/ you could a whole lot worse than get one of these (provided you don't care about the whole relic thing).

It really should be a case of treating people the same way that you would expect to be treated yourself. This is something we should all do as a matter of course
I agree, but unfortunately for the most part we seem to have turned into a 'me' society. Just take a look at the way people walk down the street, drive and carry on in general. It's not just a generational thing either, I'm often appalled at the selfish behaviour displayed by people of all ages. I'd like to think it's a major conurbation affliction, but I've seen it displayed in some fairly remote places too. -
Very, very nice. I bet that ownership is all the sweeter having had to put money by without actually having it. Congrats!

I'm afraid this is all very typical of how we view working in a shop, or any other service industry. Most of those working in these establishments are doing it as a stepping stone to something they consider 'worthwhile' and think their current position is below them. Of course this all translates into crap customer service. To be fair the companies employing them don't train them correctly as they also consider the job not worth having. For all of the shortcomings in US society they do seem to have a better attitude in this area leading to way better service. All this means that when you get proper customer service you really notice and will try as best as you can to go back to that establishment.
As a counter to this there is a music shop local to me where the service is very good, unfortunately they don't stock the stuff I'm normally after. I also received really good service from my local car dealer today, properly beyond the expected level of service one expects. So there are 'professional' service industry people out there, they're just few and far between

The more things you have to sell your wares the less objections the potential venue can throw up. For instance, "Yeah that CD sounds ok, but I want my punters to be able to see a website." And the reverse of that analogy, or mixture of the various media you refer to. My band is in the same boat at the moment, good FB presence but our website isn't very good (no music or vids yet) and have this excuse thrown back at us despite 2 of the members of the band knowing the managers really well. In short don't give them an easy excuse to turn you away.

Google definition of drug - Noun. A substance that has a physiological effect when ingested or otherwise introduced into the body.
And for addiction and addicted - Noun. The fact or condition of being addicted to a particular substance, thing, or activity.
Adjective. 1.Physically and mentally dependent on a particular substance, and unable to stop taking it without incurring adverse effects.
2.Enthusiastically devoted to a particular thing or activity.
So according to Google (so it must surely be true) the answer to your question about music being an addictive drug is yes.

There are some good relic finishers out there who can reproduce things to look really natural.
A mate of mine has a side line in reliced Strats and Teles. They're very sympathetic and well done. Doesn't do basses though. -
Maybe it'll end up on YouTube for the Skyless amongst us
-
Fantastic paint job. However, I must say that I rather like the natural too. If I was looking for a deluxe Tele I think I'd give a clear coated one of those some serious thought.
You must let us know what it all cost (if you're happy to of course) as I reckon you might have a few folks giving a build some serious thought, or commissioning one maybe -
Get in there! Good to hear someone from the BC ranks getting some airplay. No Sky here though
Tried the Phil Jones PB-300 powered cab and it sounded fantastic, really punchy and warm. But the downside is that although it was plenty loud in the shop, I could tell that it might run out of juice in a loud gig/practice situation.
I was looking at this myself to couple with my Cub, but the general view of those in the know is that it is a bit wanting in the volume dept despite the wattage. This is certainly true of the Cub, 100w through its 2x5 speakers isn't as loud as you'd normally expect from that wattage. -

Protective film is now off the scratchplate. I think I've got the yellow colour on the body looking pretty authentic?
Yes indeed. Really looking forward to the completed article and ensuing gallery. This thread really is getting my Tele Deluxe GAS going. -
Skoda Octavia estate, bigger storage space than the Audi A4. An awful lot of quality car for not a lot of cash (relatively speaking).

How did our miss this thread when my most recent purchase touched down? Oh well better late than never.

Did you sit in the bath with it?
Nope, but a previous owner may have. What I find surprising is that for all natural ageing that has occurred on my bass (remember it's almost 50 years old) there is none of the forearm wear that relicers immediately apply their sanders to emulate. -
My P bass came to me very distressed, I reckon some low slung rocker with a big belt buckle had it once upon a time.

You should see Sweden then...you won't get a gig if you don't show up with a fender.
Not just Sweden, I've seen this in local jams right here. I remember when I first started playing bass around 2000 and thought the best way to get myself out there was turning up to jams where I'd previously played guitar. My first bass was a cheap, but pretty good quality Yamaha RBX and I overheard disparaging comments from the resident P playing bassist about 'modern' basses. I didn't get to play that night.
