  2. Another vote for the bezel, also stops you catching the potentially sharp edge of the p/up surround.
  3. Bump for, what I consider, a great little amp for not much moolah. Delivery to wherever.
  4. Bump for a lightweight, solid sounding, great playing P type.

  9. Handling fees sounds like an opportunity for some firms to fleece buyers. The BBC article being a case in point, VAT is fair enough, but how much for ‘handling’?

  16. I had a finish issue with my first 1605, which was sorted with a replacement, but I sometimes found the bodies a bit small. Probably all nonsense and a fair dash of ennui/GAS played its part. To be fair, I was also wooed back to 4 stringers by the company that sometimes can’t be named. Ah, ‘twas ever thus.
  17. I fail to see your point 😂😎
  18. Ah, the 1205 in all its understated elegance. I wish I’d bought one of these now, rather than being seduced by the bling of the 1605. Maybe I’d still own an Ibby if I had. Hey ho.
  19. Some seriously talented builders here who are more than happy to share their expertise with others.
  20. This sounds horrifyingly familiar - childhood flashback time. Right, I’m off to hide from the bullies.

  25. I think it’s called Craftman’s these days, it comes in a yellow tin. I originally got it to remove the nitro lacquer from the neck of my Roadworn P (I don’t get on with fairly new nitro, it’s often too sticky) IIRC and, as the paint was starting to wear (and be sticky) on the SUB, both got the treatment. I resealed with Danish Oil (2 or 3 coats, knocked back with wire wool each time).
