  1. 25 of each? Won’t they be sold out within minutes of going on sale?
  2. It’s here. A bit lighter than I expected at 3.2Kg/7.2lbs, which is good. There are an absurd amount of wraps around the tuning posts, it’s almost like the previous owner put long scale strings on. I’ve never played flats before. Interesting to try, they feel so nice and smooth, but not really my thing as I prefer the brighter zing of rounds. Got some D’Addario XL nickel rounds on the way. This may be a silly question, but should the pickups be high in the middle of the fretboard, sloping to low on the outer edges, following the radius, like on a P bass? This doesn’t look quite right . . . Fun to play on my lap as expected, I’ll have to see what’s it’s like to strap on, stand up and play. Love the satin almost unfinished neck look
  3. I guess the CV line eventually replaced them. I quite like the look of the Oly White CV but couln’t deal with that heavy glossed neck. The Mikey Way model intrigues me with the Humbucker, metallic sparkle & satin finish neck, I’m not a fan of the comp stripe though. Is there a ballpark used price they go for? I can only find a £430 (best offer accepted) in eBay sold items
  4. Ideally I’d have preferred a black one but I only recently even knew this model ever existed after doing some of my own research into Mustangs. It seems there was a FSR Candy Apple Red of this too. I guess they don’t come up for sale often due to a combination of relatively not many being made before being discontinued, and people liking them so much they hang onto them
  5. Don’t know if anyone saw this on eBay but they don’t come up often so I had to grab this - Squier Vintage Modified Mustang, the ones that were only made from around 2011-2013. It’s on its way now and I’m stupidly refreshing the tracking like my life depends on it. I’ve never played a Mustang and never like Sunburst but think this looks pretty nice with satin maple neck & string thru’ bridge, and figured if I don’t like it, I can easily move it on.
  6. Squier short scale neck only, from a 2018 Squier Vintage Modified short scale Jaguar bass which I ended up disassembling. One of the last made before the bass was discontinued. Really nice neck which I kept with the idea of maybe putting it on a Mustang someday, then I did some searching and I believe it doesn’t fit them anyway, so this is of no use to me. 20 fret Indian Laurel board with dots and side dots. Lovely fast smooth satin finish on back. Truss rod adjustment at nut (no tool included). Gloss black headstock front, satin rear. Stock tuners, neck plate, screws, string tree & nut. Very good to excellent used condition, a couple of very tiny bumps on back of neck, barely noticeable, no dings, a couple of very fine scratches on headstock front. I tried to show this in a pic, there are some small bits of residue on the top edge of the fretboard here and there - I have no idea what this is, it was like it when I got it, seems to be cosmetic only, it’s not sticky at all, I can’t feel it when playing. It’s quite an unusual combination of a Jazz width nut of 1.5” but a more Precision like front to back thickness of 0.835” just before the 1st fret, so it certainly doesn’t feel scrawny. I’ve never sold a neck before so have absolutely no idea what to list this at. I guess someone will make an offer if they think I’ve overpriced it, or it simply won’t sell. Any questions please just ask, thanks. £50 delivered or collection in person from Southport area.
  7. Oh boy. This sounds extremely familiar; the opinions of the people who actually play and sing the songs tossed aside in favour of decisions being made by the ‘powers that be’ who generally don’t have a musical bone in their body
  8. This has a satin neck finish right? What is the weight please?
  9. This looks like a lot of bass for the money with those upgrades. Perhaps you could specify the year of the neck & body, as these things are important to potential buyers. Also consider offering shipping. Cant quite tell from the pics, is it a 2008 neck?
  10. Loving the upgrades here. I have major GAS for one of these especially as I’ve never tried a medium scale bass. Not a bad thing considering how cheap they are. The orange one has been driving me crazy, but after seeing the one non stock photo of it on TB, I still like it, but my Squier PJ Candy Apple Red has a nice burnt orange tinge to it anyway, so I think I’m more likely to go for another colour. Would prefer maple over Indian Laurel anyway, which narrows it down to black or blue. @0175westwood29 Love your video, some really filthy tones through your board there. Lake Placid Blue with maple neck looks awesome with black plate. Where did you get the black plate, as it comes with white? I prefer black plates on anything. Thanks. Not sure how much longer I can hold off on this bargain bass
  11. £20 delivered. Good used condition 3 ply B/W/B 11-hole pickguard from Squier short scale Jaguar bass. A fair few scratches on it as usual with black plates. Full set of both silver stock and black screws with it. Also silver (3 knob & jack hole) control plate for same bass, with screws. Light scratching mostly hidden by the time knobs (not included) are on.
  12. £25 delivered. KiOgon wiring loom with solderless screw terminals to suit Fender Jazz / Jaguar. Ordered for failed project, tested & used very briefly but no longer needed. Installed on a control plate from a Squier short scale Jaguar (screws for which included). Can be easily removed from plate if you don’t want it. Bourne split shaft 250k pots, capacitator & switchcraft jack, volume, blend & tone setup. Blend pot has a centre indent where both pickups are at 100%. Move away from centre for more of the pickup you prefer until you find exactly what you need. Great bit of kit, cost £40. Knobs not included.
  13. SOLD £45 delivered. Babicz FCH-4 AM Original Series Black Bridge. 3-hole mount for 4-string bass. Please check this will fit your bass, any questions please ask before buying. Direct replacement upgrade for modern Fender 3-hole mount Precision or Jazz style bass bridge. 14. SOLD Babicz 4 string FCH bridge. Black, good condition with screws but no hex key. Fully adjustable. £45 delivered.
  15. After acquiring a P bass with a KiOgon loom already installed, I decided to get one fitted to my Squier VM short scale Jaguar. John built a Vol/Blend/Tone loom onto my Jag’s control plate. Also with a Switchcraft jack which feels so much sturdier to plug into than the puny stock jack. I’d read so much about these pre-wired looms that before it had even arrived I’d already ordered one for a Squier VM PJ bass I’d just got. VBT again, with a side jack. John was most helpful and patient in answering my questions, both looms were sent out in good time with fitting instructions and a cool tiny screwdriver for the screw terminals. Thanks!
  16. So I haven’t actually plugged in my Squier VM Jaguar shorty much at all since testing it alongside my other PJ and finding both the Jag’s pickups to not sound as good. But I’ve picked it up lots and played acoustically as it just feels so nice, light, comfy and easy to play on my lap. And such a nice neck too. I don’t feel I can properly judge it and decide how I feel about short scale until I’ve given this a fair go and had some better pickups installed. So I ordered the EMG Geezer PJ set that was for sale on here. Can’t wait to try it. I see that it comes with with all the pots, jack, etc. I’ll probably just install the pickups themselves into the KiOgon loom I put in it. I guess I won’t run into issues doing it like this? I’m sure I’ve read comments (either here or elsewhere, can’t find them right now) that said to ditch the packaged EMG pots anyway if you already have good electronics as what you have is likely better than the included stuff. Any thoughts? Thanks
  17. Yes, I may have to consider it if nobody in the North West is interested
