  1. Mmmm nice. I had a headless Roscoe 4 which was lovely. Always wanted one with a headstock. Must not look!
  2. Thanks for the update! Any idea whether those containers might contain any of the bass DI and DI+?
  3. Aha, mystery solved. Wishing you a quick and agreeable sale!
  4. Interesting, yours has the tug bar/finger rest thingy or whatever you call it. Mine does not, albeit mine was newer, but I always found it interesting that it has the holes drilled for one, even if it's missing.
  5. Wooten's sound is awful, even if I respect his ability.
  6. That was great, thanks for sharing. Perfect for a Friday.
  7. Me too and many others. https://support.google.com/accounts/thread/235285575 I've changed my passwords, removed the verification phone and switched to a TOTP code, but still the texts continue.
  8. Once I'd reached what I consider an unreasonable number of instruments (for me, 4), I decided that it was one in one out from now on. I'm now at the stage where I don't want any of the basses to go, so I'm not GASing.
  9. Nice, and you can buy them separately can you? Just a drop-in replacement on a precision?
  10. That's a shame. Both lovely basses. I already have a Super P, but would love to hear about the Stellartone thing, and what you didn't like about the original electronics. I never turn it into the scooped area. Sorry if it's a sale derail!
  11. Sorry if I'm being really dim here, but if I know the mass of the whole string, and I know the length of the whole string, then can't I calculate the mass per unit length? Admittedly with the string that goes beyond the nut and the bridge, it's an approximation.
  12. Thanks for responding @EssentialTension But wouldn't the scale length and pitch be the same for any string you wanted to put on your bass? What's compliance? Do you mean how pliable the string is?
  13. Sorry for reviving such an old thread, but does this mean that we can determine the relative tension of strings by weighing them?
  14. The number of options for learning and improving is so great now that I think it's easier to learn. I was teaching myself in the 80s, and the one lesson I had from a teacher was fairly useless (he was convinced the machines were coming, and all bassists were out of a job, so why would I even want to learn?). I've done a few SBL courses, and watched so much Youtube to pinpoint things I want to focus on. I definitely play better now at 55 than I did at 18 (which was probably my first peak).
  15. Nice bass. What happened about customs?
  16. I'd love to hear about the neck profile if you have time, as I'm considering one of these at some point in the future. The only necks I have not been able to handle are the ones which are wide but shallow. A bit of depth to the neck and I'm fine.
  17. Nice! How close to a vintagey P-bass can the TM4 get?
  18. I asked Modern Vintage about the 70's P neck and they said...
