I really can't answer to that as there are so many varieties in the P bass sound, & personal interpretation plays a large role also. As almost any jazz bass I assume it might come close, but it's still not a precision:). Actually I never really compared it 1 to 1 with my precision, might be a fun thing for the weekend. -
For sale again. I did doubt a little, so removed it when listed earlier. But as I just keep it in it's case, it gotta move now. Besides ive got my eyes on something different which can't be picked up for free.....unfortunately;). You're looking at a scarce vintage Yamaha SB500 from the late 70s. It is basically a jazz type bass with broad precision neck. It sound just great, like a jazz but a little darker in my opinion. It has an avarage weight of 4,3 kilos I believe, will check later with my kitchen scale. The bass plays well and sounds just great with rounds or flats. All hardware and electronics work fine like they should. This yamaha is definetely in great shape for its age. Of course it is used, but it hasnt to much marks on it. The body has a nice transparent finish. Original instruction booklet in japanese is included. Fixed Price: £450 (sorry, will not be sold for less) This Yammie is based in The Netherlands, but shipping within the EU aint a problem. It will initially be sold without the pictured case, due to limitations of the couriers shipping from the netherlands. I havent found a courier yet of which Im sure that they take packages of hardcase length. So thats why I lowered the price with 50gbp since the last time it had been listed with case. The neck will be removed from the body for packing. Please inform for shippingcosts to your destination (will be around 25-30).

Thanks guys. There was a nice walnut sabre on ebay uk a while ago which looked great. Just wait till the right one pops up with nice matching body pieces:). Ive seen many pre eb sabres with ugly (dark-light) matched pieces of wood. Especially on a sunburst it looks just off imo. Mine is a nice natural one from '79. Sounds really awesome and has the flamboyant stingray type sound if needed. -

Hi There I'm Patrick from the Netherlands. I live in the area of the west coast, where many tourist come by (during spring and summer) to watch the colorfull flowerfields and enjoy the beaches. I can see a mill from my living room, which gives a cliché touch to my dutch-being I guess:). I'm in a band called the Manatees. Were making our own songs, which we enjoy. We use 2 guitars, bass, drums, vocals and keys. Our songs display various styles, but when people ask me about it I usually answer that we play a litte alternative pop/rock music. Could be anything right ;). Many basses have passed during the years as I bought/sold/traded basses to try much I gassed on. I really enjoyed this experience and helped me to learn about basses and their qualities a lot. The bass I play the most is a 82 fender precision special which I purchased about half a year ago. Since I had the frets levelled, its an awesome playing bass unless its wide neck. It weighs about 5kg, but I like the balanced sound a lot. A mono betty strap keeps it comfortable to play. I use it mainly passive though. My other basses are a Musicman sabre, lakland skyline decade (sounds awesome with fender flats), sandberg california TT4 and a vintage Yamaha Super Bass 500. The last 2 will be sold though, to provide money for my gassing on other basses (mustang bass or single coil tele bass). My amp is an EBS fafner with an eden 210xlt 4ohm cab. At home I use an old Rickenbacker TR120B combo or a markbass f series head with fender rumble 210. I log in to basschat quite often to check out reviews, new topics etc. I like to read users experiences about new stuff etc. Also I found basschat market interesting to take a look at or to sell something myself. Would also consider this bass as a (partly) trade with a single coil fender telecaster bass (not to heavy) from the early 70s or late 60s.

Great german made Sandberg TT4. Very nice high quality instrument, at least on par with usa Fender. It has been very well built with the use of high quality components only. Fit and finish are excellent. This is the newer design of the TT4, which is less styled like a fender jazz. The bass plays and sounds great. It's playability is great, it plays very easily. the neck has a great feel as it has a satin finish. The TT4 can be used active as well passive, with a wide variety of sounds possible. It weighs between 3,9 and 4,0 kg on my kichen scale. It's in near new condition with just a few usermarks to be found. No case or bag included. Asking price: £950 I would be interested in a nice trade offer as well . Im mainly interested in: fender 60s style jazz, rickenbacker, musicman (preferably early 90s with lacquered neck, no oil finish) 2eq....Other traditionally styled (fretless) basses, fretless, effects... The sandberg is located in the Netherlands. Registered shipping within europe should be no problem, with the neck seperated from the body. Feel free to pm me if you have any questions.

Ashdown MiBass 550 Nice small lightweight amp. It's in good used condition, works as it should. Thanks, also for the correct addition:). Ive found it to be a bit darker sounding than a regular jazz bass. It really sounds great with fender flats; not to modern, and not to vintage.

Ibanez Black Eagle reissue Great reissue of the iconic black eagle. Produced in limited amounts a few years back to celebrate the 40 year anniversary of that bass. This bass is used, but in great shape with no damages. It has fender flatwound strings on it which makes a great combination. The eagle sounds really great and plays easily with a low action. It weighs just below 4kg on my kitchen scale. The nut has been filed in to accomodate the best playability with the flats, but is therefore to low for most regular other strings. A brand new nut is provided in this sale, so could be changed. I'm asking £450 This bass is based in the Netherlands, but i'm happy to ship it to a new owner. Within Europe costs will be around 25-31gbp, when packed with the neck seperated from the body. I'm on the lookout for an old fender mustang bass, so will definitely consider a trade. I have a few other basses that may leave (ibanez atk 300, sandberg california tt4). Please do not hestitate to ask me any questions.

Sounds like a grounding problem to me. Are you using a grounded wall outlet when it occurs? Could also be a loose soldering joint in the electronics of the bass or something like that.

YAMAHA RBX550 Nice bass from the early 90s I guess. As to be expected from Yamaha, build quality is good. This bass plays easily with its jazz bass type neck, and is fairly lightweighted. This RBX550 sounds great with it's PJ setup, it is very varsitle. Though electronics don't seem to work as they should anymore. I guess the pots need replacement (can be had cheap) as the pickup switch doesnt switch the pickups as it should. The other pots aren't smooth working either. Both pickups produce sound in one or another way, so seems that they are fine. The bass is in used condition, with a lot of user-marks on the body. Though nothing serious like wood cracks etc. Hardware works as it should. Truss rod also works fine. No case or gigbag is included. Asking price: 125 GBP This bass is based in the Netherlands. Shippingcosts within Europe are somewhere between 25-31gbp. The neck will be removed from the body to meet to the size restriction of PostNL for international parcels. IBANEZ ATK300 JAPAN Very nice Ibanez ATK300 bass, finished in see through brown which looks very classy. It's a well built and versatile bass, best known for the stingray-like sound it has when switched in full humbucker mode.. The ATK has been used a lot by it's previous owner, which is visible in it's appearance. There is a small chip of lacquer missing on the top edge of the bass. On the back there is a lot of scratching/bucklewear and a crack in the lacquer. I tried to picture this as well as possible. The neck has worn around the edges and frets show wear, but the neck plas fine. It's an easy and comfortable bass to play. I bought this bass used, and haven't played it since I prefer other basses. Actually forgot a little about it, and it has been kept in the closet. I've already put new Fender nps 45-105 strings on it.
