  1. Unlikely - it’s 10 years old and I’m not the first owner
  2. Sensitive subject that....
  3. Even if I keep it flat?
  4. It’s at the hospital. Dropped it off with Jon today. He had a good look at it, scratched his head and couldn’t work out why it had happened. There was not a lot of tension in the rod, and it bizarrely still worked (!) - but it has definitely bent and tried to break through the back. All quite bizarre but definitely nothing I’d done. Neck break is fixable. However, truss won’t slide out so it’s fingerboard off and new rod along with glue neck, clamp and relacquer.
  5. You’ve been in the same bands as me and we’ve not noticed each other??!!
  6. Cor - I don’t get offers like that! Normally it’s “I’ve started this cracking band and we’ve found a really good bass player” 🤣
  7. Depends - if totally flat then about 2-3 hours, but if not then less.
  8. USB charging sort of depends on how you look at it - I can charge it in the car on the way to a gig, but similarly if I forget to bring spare AAA batteries with the smoothhound I’m equally stuffed. Both are fine for interference, but the boss has less latency. Which is actually quite a big thing..
  9. I have a smoothhound and the boss system (with the two battery units as opposed to the pedal one) Both would do the job very well. The smoothhound takes AAA batteries but requires the base to be plugged in, the boss is usb charged for both units. I use the boss far more - draw your own conclusions from that!
  10. There’s a bit of me that fancies a “hefty” amp for the music room... hmmm maybe I need some cheap “Trace” watts
  11. Looks great.. but heavy!
  12. Should be fine with pretty much any frfr tbh
  13. I don’t think we are going to get anywhere with this, are we? In my opinion, and it’s just that - my opinion, and rightly or wrongly, and of course I am more than happy for others to say I am wrong or disagree, I think that in this particular case, they have chosen to use peak to give them an eye catching “2000w” figure to use. The thing is, if I take their figure at face value, I’m going to really struggle to find a bass cab which is rated highly enough to cope with an output this big - I’d be constantly worried that it would blow the speakers.
  14. Agreed - I don’t think we are at odds on this. I think the point I’m making (and @Al Krow as well) is that they have chosen peak to grab attention and there is the potential there to mislead the average punter.. after all, this thread started with “is this really 2000w for £250??” So doubt is cast there already...
  15. Should I link all the amps currently available that measure output in RMS?
  16. Choosing to use Peak output is an odd one though - it’s not common in bass amps. Why choose peak? It may not be fake but the cynic in me says it was chosen to give a headline number to grab attention. Not strictly wrong, but there’s half a chance the not so savvy punter would be led to believe it was 1500w more than a 500w anpnfrom another manufacturer...
  17. Why do single pickup basses have a volume control then?
  18. @milesBguitar Broadly no - it depends on what you are using to generate the tone that’s going to the frfr
  19. What’s the point in Internet forums if you can’t overthink things, discuss stuff that’s broadly irrelevant for hours on end, or postulate opinions and discuss minute details on stuff you’re unlikely to ever own or use? 😁
  20. Surely "Totally agree, period" ?
  21. If they do it all of their own accord then it would go a long way to explaining my inconsistent sound 😁
  22. Looking forward to it! I’ve been so happy with my Finn 4 that another ACG was a no brainer to be honest
  23. At least you know where it is so you can keep track of it
  24. Apparently not - and I didn’t know it was available until Alan said it was! I must admit the formula of a RetroB in P guise with a John East Preamp was just far too tempting.
