  1. I'm in Berkshire - PPG sent!
  2. OK - Chelmsford is a bit of a trek for me, so best to post. I'll bung you the £23 if you PM me your details (Paypal?). I've got a body which needs routing, so this works out cheaper than buying a router (and fluffing it up), minus the cost of elbow grease...
  3. Funnily enough, I was only yesterday thinking about a Flyte.
  4. Illegal as in against the law. There have been threads where the information/links have been posted. As to whether the matter would be pursued, it is questionable whether it would be done for Joe Bloggs selling the old bass he's had in his loft for the past 10 years, but for a business selling multiple ones it could be only a matter of time before they get a knock on the door (or at least a cease & desist notice). A Rickenfaker sporting a Rickenbacker logo on its TRC is also illegal. The current Ric copies with the trademark headstock also infringe RIC's registered EU trademarks and are illegal. The 70s/80s Ric copies which were made before RIC registered the headstock trademark could not infringe it because it didn't exist when they were made. (A moot point would be putting a genuine Rickenbacker TRC onto a 'faker.)
  5. I can go for that! Whereabouts are you located?
  6. I remember them from back in the day. I'd say that it is overpriced a bit too rarity and value do not necessarily go hand in hand.
  7. Still illegal, regardless.
  8. I'll probably get an EHX POG of some sort.
  9. A compressor is good in front of octave & synth pedals. I've got a Boss CP-1X, which doesn't kill the sound.
  10. That's something which didn't need inventing.
  11. Manybe he used immac to remove the frets.
  12. One of Dale's?
  13. Since it's an Affinity it'll be the bottom end of the range, but I don't think even they are ply. If it was local to me I'd have it for a project, but the postage is probably about what it's worth.
  14. The previous player had a hellish vibrato!
  15. There's someone (Ali) selling a scratchplate on the rickenfakers group which they started to increase the size of the pickup hole.
  16. He describes it as "lovely blue"... :-)
  17. They've got so many of them on offer that they're probably getting confused as to which is which... :-)
  18. The EH has 9 canned sounds, coupled with tweaks via the control knobs. It's good for playing things which complement the bass line; I think it's an accompaniment. The SS generates the sounds and is very direct and is more of an instrument in its own right. I think their roles sort of complement each other.
  19. For contrast, here's an EH Synth 9 on the OBX setting.
  20. Here's a couple of patches I managed to program. They could probably be refined a bit more, but they're not far off. I'll add screendumps and saved files next time I use my laptop.
  21. My current faker projects: 1. A Hondo II. 2. A CMI.
  22. Well, my car hasn't got a glove box, but I get what you're saying... :-) However, I didn't go out intending to try out a cab; I went into a shop and they happened to have one. By that logic, perhaps I should take my bass and rig everywhere too, so that I've got all the permutations covered if I happen to spot anything I might like to try out.
  23. Perhaps you should read what I wrote in the OP, ie. "he said there might be another one in another room". So, no.
