I thought hey were brilliant, one of the best two fingers performances ever.
-
Terrible news, hope you get it back.
-
Would be nice to think there was someone who could do it for sensible money.

Slightly off topic and a bit of a curve ball, but I wonder if it would be worth someone with speaking to courier companies and see if any deals can be done regarding insurance. I am thinking form the classic car and bike world where things that aren’t possible suddenly become possible if the company thinks a decent number of people will use them.

Not mine but passed onto me, thought it worth posting in case anyone gets offered anything. Loads of my guitar stuff has been nicked out of my van in Maidenhead. PLEASE SHARE this around. Is this acceptable for a new Ibanez? (Fit and finish issues) UPDATE
T-Bay replied to Shockwave's topic in General Discussion
Exactly my thoughts but there is nothing the OP can do about that sadly. -
I like both (and you know you LOVE sanctuary :-) )
-
Do you mean sustain or MORE sustain though? There is a point beyond which extra sustain would be pointless for most (all?) but you need a degree of sustain of the notes in a lot of situations. (and sanctuary is a GREAT song btw ;-) not good, great)
-
I might be missing something with what you are asking but as sustain is a measure of the length of time a note sounds for, so why wouldn’t you want a better sustain characteristic? There are way too many songs to list, but to pick one - she sells sanctuary by The Cult, the bass starts with two ringing A notes so without sustain it would sound terrible. You can always mute a note if you want it to sound for less time.

Is that the Hot wire ones sold by Status? Never used flats but looking for some for my new fretless.

Another roto fan here but they don’t last, I get 4-6 weeks before they are tailing off to the point I change them. That is about 20-30 hours playing on average. Not much really.

Yup, I emailed them nd got a reply back within an hour and the issue was sorted the same day. The person I was dealing with at PMT went from very unhelpful to sorting the problem very quickly which suggests something happened behind the scenes. I then got an email from Ibanez Uk to check I was happy with the outcome. Very impressed, especially as it was on a £220 bass I had bought as a present for a relative not a super expensive one by any stretch. -
Agree with above but would lower the cab estimate a bit if it was me, being a it of a serial TE fancier I keep an eye on prices on eBay, Gumtree and Shpock and the 4x10 doesn’t seem popular (due to weight I guess?) and I would think maybe £100 would be better. Stupidly cheap for what they are. I have seen a couple of 8x10s and they generally start at a few hundred and the last one I saw down at £50 before it went. Madness really but most of the cabs seem to go for £70-100 apart from the desirable smaller ones.

I had to contact Ibanez after an issue with PMT a couple of months ago. PMT were trying to fob me off basically. Ibanez were brilliant and it was sorted in very short order. -

Used these at work: https://www.hearingdirect.com/Hearing-Protection/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIyIHx0OTF2AIVbbftCh3F5ACcEAAYASAAEgKaXvD_BwE not sure if they do custom colours as such but do a range with some plain ones and the swirly colour type.

I have seen a couple of TE 8x10s for sale and nearly gone for them but know I would probably never use it.

I have had a couple of first floor gigs with the TE, we are a helpful bunch so it was just a case of one on each side and up the stairs. Would have been fun on my own but there is always someone who will help.

That is nice. Beyond the obvious, what colour actually is it?

[I know Ashdowns can stand a lot of signal on the input stage, but is there any advantage in a high input level on a Trace? Is it better to whack up the master and control the volume level with the input, or vice-versa,? Or neither?] I think it depends on what sort of sound you are after, I like a clean sound through the amp and the low input works well for that. But to be honest I don’t think I have ever managed to ‘push’ the amp yet. I could dial the input up to get the led on but there’s no point. One thing I notice on mine is that if I wat to use it for practice I have to drop the input more than the output as the output has less effect on the overall volume.
