  1. Davy , sorry, sale just agreed, I'm about to mark it sold shortly. (once dispatched)
  2. Check out Puretone Amps from Greece, he seems to have it cracked
  3. I reckon without all that wood it’ll ‘only’ weigh around 15-20kg, practically featherweight....for a valve head 🤣
  4. Yeah that’s what I have 2 Ashdowns and a UK Trace . Power houses
  5. I seem to be going the opposite way 🤔. I only have valve or old school mosfet AB amps now. Got rid of all my class D light weight amps . I just prefer the sound of them . Personal thing I suppose
  6. Just received a now discontinued Ashdown Spyder 550 and I can’t get over the build quality and sound of the thing. I regularly gig with an old trace head,( which I also love) the sound profile from the Ashdown seems more natural than the trace . Warmer or something?

    Merton

Bought an Ashdown spyder from Merton and he really delivered a cracking amp , great to chat with and a pleasure to deal with . A gent and thoroughly sound bloke .
  8. Slightly off the point but I reckon there’s gear doing the rounds among basschatters 😂😂. I once sold a bass to a random guy that happened to be the previous owner of my current bass. 🤔
  9. I pulled the trigger on an Ashdown spyder 550w but only to ease the transition into abstinence 2020. Like a smoker on New Year’s Eve
  10. This kit allows you to convert the two10 into a two10s. I.e offering both 4 and 12 ohm impedance options. No soldering involved (just a lot of screwdrivering 😀) Item unused. Never needed to stack my cab with another , plus my amp goes to 2ohm. Price excludes shipping
  11. I got the cheapo one from Thomann , Harley Benton , spent another £30 on a set up , fret dress and now it plays and sounds fantastic. Big fat maple neck only around £130 in total . It’s a seriously good bass
  12. Well I just pulled the trigger on an Ashdown spyder 550....but that’s it !
  13. Well I have one guitarist mate and one drummer mate that have bad gas.
  14. I think us bassists suffer from gas the most. A lot of my guitar friends couldn’t care less what gear they have as long as it works 🤔
  15. Consumables don’t count right ? Leads strings , valves etc ?
  16. I went down that 5 string road, gassed about it for years. Eventually bought a cracking Human Base, then it was like “now what?” Much preferred my 4 string Basses. If you really want those low notes consider a drop tuner or pitch shifter.
  17. I’m gassing for a sweet hybrid amp currently up for grabs . Do I need it ? Of course not 🙄
  18. New Years resolution : no daft purchases for 2020? Is this possible ? I dunno how many white elephants I’ve bought over the years ...decent gear just sitting idle because of Gas only to be resold months later at a loss of course ☹️. It’s not like I Need the stuff...who’s with me ?
  19. Worst decision I ever made was to sell my little bastard. I just didn’t keep it long enough to figure it out 😩
  20. I was going to suggest a new set of power valves but yes you probably made the best decision to get it looked at professionally.
