I really dont like the look of the Lakland Skyline body at all. It looks like a bass that ate too many pork pies. G&L basses in general i think look very dull and uninteresting...too may pick ups , too may dials and knobs. Great playing and sounding basses I'm sure.

My Sandberg Cal (Gen 1) has a huge headstock and I much prefer the Gen2 headstock. Great bass otherwise.

As I said...the jury is still out, I cant decide whether they're cool or just goofy with those scallop frets and weird pickup placement. No doubt they're great basses.

Even though they received a great review from Ed Friedland, the bass whisperer, and I nearly bought one, I just couldn't get over that head stock. Unlike others on this thread I kinda like telebass headstocks, at least they're a classic design but that below is just ugh! I think they've since been discontinued, I mean who wants to buy a copy of a fender bass for the same price as a fender but with an ugly headstock? 🤷‍♂️

Just get hotrails or solid pickup covers , pickup unsightliness sorted. Can’t help you with crooked inlays however

The Jury is out on those Billy Sheehan Yamaha basses for me .

Sire really should take the hint at this point. It ruins an otherwise perfectly good bass

Hard to argue with a sunburst P and tort pick guard with maple neck 🤷‍♂️. But I guess it is pretty lazy and safe

I know this is supposed to be about basses but I really hate those Ibenez guitars with the monkey grip...can we extend this thread to other musical items that puts us off ?? 😂😂😂

I wouldn’t bother, it would only reduce the value of the bass

Even the starbass has the wrong headstock ☹️. Again great playing basses but Ick to look at. I had a corvette once and it basically had 2 dildos for horns. My band mates slagged me something wicked. I could live with the thumb or streamer bass. The Adam Clayton one is actually cool

The original jazz bass ones are cool imo

I really dislike the upper curve on those 4003 basses . Too much useless chrome .

I like them but the horn looks like it could snap off any minute

I’m gonna get lynched but I don’t really like the look of most Warwick basses 😬. I know they’re great basses and all but they look very 90s. Especially the Dolphin and infinity ones . Daft looking

Sorry Not a fan of those Fender Marcus Miller basses either....too much going on, the mods look very home made.

Danelectro Longhorn basses. Sorry if anyone owns one but they look horrid to me, the 'horns' look like they could snap off if you looked at them too hard,. I'm not convinced by those lipstick pickups either, they look like something that fell out of a lucky bag.

Those Ampeg basses with the F holes going through the body and the double bass style headstock, vom.

What's worse is the Fender 5 string, where the G string is on the sloping bit of the Fender headstock, It looks like it was just shoved on as an afterthought.

the New Sandberg headstock is pretty slick, I've an old Sandberg and it does look like it could double as a shovel.
