1.
I found that very interesting thanks
As did I. Cheers.
2. Funny. As I read this thread I was listening to Bill Henderson's 'I've got a crush on you.' For me, the bass I wanted since I started playing was a black/black and maple Stingray. Now I've owned one since November, and I'm as happy as a pig in sh*t.
3. Are you any good with a soldering iron? Or know anyone who is? http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=43084 Just get a couple of the 2.1/5.5mm plugs on here (p/n HH60Q) and a bit of two core cable. That's what I use, as my pedal board is two pedals, and a load of extra ends on a daisy chain cable is a pain in the bum. If I had some spare connectors I could make one and post too you, but I have none I'm affraid. Karl
4. Bump for an awesome head. Posted via over night courier.
5. What sort of wood/size etc do you want? I could make you some. Drop me a PM if you're interested.
6. There are differenent grades and compositions of stainless steel. I guess there may be something in the mixture that makes up Ernies stainless Slinkys that you are allergic too.
7. Cooooooor! Now THAT is what I'd want in a Warwick.
8. Now with photies! I just had a look at it again and its absoloutly MINT. Not a mark on it that I can find!
9. Hey chaps I'm looking at the possibility of chainging my LMII for an F1. I'm drawn to the smaller size and the extra speakon connector on the F1. £375 POSTED in the UK for the head. Unfortunately there is no original box, and (possibly) no manual - but the head is in very very good condition, having been kept in a padded GigSkinz bag all the time I've owned it, and I look after my gear carefully. Pics added. Cheers Karl
10. I have my 5 in EADGC and I absoloutly love it. Well worth a try. You could fit a high C and a D-tuner on the E. Best of both worlds. I really didn't get on with low B. Just never found myself using it. My 6 string that I had (which I really miss) I tuned EADGCF.
11. Hey I have a Markbass LMII, in very good condition (has recently been checked by a pro as well and is in fine working order) and I'm half tempted to get an F1 or LMK head, just becasue I fancy going a bit more hi-fi, but sticking to Markbass. Just want to know how much I could get for it. Paulie is selling an F1 on here for £470 and if I could get enough from a sale of my LMII, I might go for it... Cheers Karl
12. I'd say that would work quite well. Are you planning on buying the string retainer or making one? You need to find out what the width of the nut is on the RBX170 neck and find a retainer that would suit if you are looking at buying one. I know the current style Status Graphite retainers are 42mm wide, so that's one option. ABM also do a system (i think the tuning bridge rails for the status basses are actually ABM, but I could be wrong). http://www.abm-mueller.com/index2.html have a look there. The system they do is more steinberger style. but they are not cheap! Making the body would be best rather than trying to chop one up - and probably a lot easier, as I imagine you would run into all sorts of problems. A nice bit of ash to do a B2 style body would cost you less than £40...
13. I have one of these in yellow, and they are very cool basses. If I had a spare £80 and the means to pick it up I'd take it. Worth mentioning they have a really cool one-knob active circuit. The controls are Vol, Tone, 3-way pup selector, Active/Passive switch and the active knob. One way makes it brighter, the other way makes it deeper. Bump for the coolest budget bass ever.
