1. If I were still playing as much as I was I would have snapped this up. I have always wanted one. Beautiful instruments.
2.
TC Electronics Hall of Fame - amazing VFM.
What is the Mini one like? The full size version is too much for my budget.
3. To say that the sound of a valve amp is in the transformer isnt really the case. My experience/understanding of this comes from hifi equipment, but it's the same principle. In fact, my current hifi amp uses EL34 output tubes (in Ultralinear mode) which are found in many guitar amps. A good output transformer sounds transparent. It should have no effect on the tonality, speed, or character of the sound. The reason that the tone of an amp sounds to be "improved" when the output transformers are replaced with better quality units is that better one is simply more transparent so more of the characteristics that make up that 'tube sound' get through. Interestingly with tube rolling, unless the output valves you are replacing are of low quality or worn out, it's changing the input stage valves that has the biggest effect of changing the character of the amp.
4.
Don't think so bud , bought mine new around 2003 I think Si
My mistake. It was TPJ!
5.
I'm going to hold onto mine in the hope it'll become sought after . It's an ok looper, but excellent echo/delay pedal Si
I'mpretty sure you have my old one. I should have kept it!
6. Can anyone recommend a nice musical sounding 'verb that works well with bass and doesn't cost the earth? Maybe a delay/reverb even. I did have a DD6 but it had too many types of delay that I never used and often found myself just wanting a long reverb.
7. Hey guys and gals, how's it going?! Been away form here and from bass playing for about 5 years - but I am absolutely determined to get back into it. Fortunately I didn't sell ALL of my gear so still have a handful of basses and my Markbass F1/ GS112 rig and of course my trusty TU-2! Turns out that after not playing for ages I absolutely SUCK. Was having a practice earlier and just about managed to get through 'Sir Duke' without falling over so that's about my technical limit now. I was making a bit of progress with my theory before life happened and I stopped playing. I haven't had the opportunity to see what I can still remember yet but I imagine I have forgotten most of what little I had grasped. So I'm back here to try and get the enthusiasm back and find my way back into playing! Cheers Karl
8. I never did sell this. I couldn't bare to do it. Problem is, I don't play any more and just sits there along with the others. I find myself fancying a Telecaster type guitar now and learning to play some Brad Paisley... Why is it so hard for me to say good bye to this bass. What should I do????
9. BUMP - Now for sale. £750 collection only. No offers. No trades.
10. 11. £750 collected May part ex for Fender MIM Tele, G&L Tribute ASAT £300/350 sort of value instrument) plus cash my way. Collection only from Peterborough area. Could possibly deliver for round trip petrol cost - bearing in mind I average 25mpg... -------------- Original text ----------------- I am once again considering the sale of my beloved Stingray. The spec is as follows Ernie Ball MusicMan Stingray (1994) 4 String Fretted, maple neck and fingerboard - solid with a nice low action possible Black body Black/white/black scratch plate Active, Bass/Mid/Trebble 9V 3QE Chrome hardware ALL 100% ORIGINAL The bass has been gigged a lot, but has always been looked after. It does have quite a few little knocks and dings on the body, with the odd scuff here and there, but the neck is in pristine order and the marks on the body are only noticeable close up. It pains me to be having to put this up for a possible sale. From when I first started playing this was the bass I dreamed of one day owning. It is a superb piece of equipment. At the moment I am testing the water while I see what's out there. I really want to get back into playing music a bit and I think I have enough basses that I don't use and I quite fancy an electric guitar. Please PM me with interest as I am without my own internet connection and struggle to navigate this site on my mobile. Karl
