  1. Yeah I agree, excellent value. Ignore the “quirky” duvet (my wife’s idea of humour!).
  2. This is a curious little bass! I picked it up recently to take on holiday to practice, but then I bought the NS Omni bass here, so this was surplus to requirements. It's a lovely pink bass that (to me at least) looks like the Tanglewood basses you saw everywhere in the 90s. It all works perfectly well and has had a brand new set of Rotosound strings on it. The bass looks great, it light as a feather and is super cheap. The only thing to note is that the board appears to be lifting a little on the underside of the neck (fret 2 - 4). I was going to glue and clamp this, but I don't have the time. You can play it and it's fine, but obviously something to be aware of. I know nothing of the manufacturer, the components, or anything else. This (to me) is a cheap, functional and fun bass that I was happy to leave in the car when parked at a services or in my Air B&B ( the one I was renting, I obviously can’t afford to own two homes!) Does £50 sound fair? I have a box and can post it or it's collection and a cup of tea in Bristol (preferred). (this may be removed if the charity I'm volunteering for needs a bass, but this may not happen).
  3. For the frustrated 6-stringer here are some lovely books. All good condition, no rips or tears and come with CDs where included. Postage on top, will take an offer for them all! Pink Floyd - £7 Guns & Roses £3 All others £5
  4. I have somehow acquired a monitor called "The Box MA205". We used this as a monitor when doing some acoustic stuff a while back and it was great. Some superficial scrapes caused by life on the road, but ultimately, a great little monitor from the guys at Thomann. Now surplus to requirements, and yours for £50 delivered in the UK. It's this one: https://www.thomann.de/gb/the_box_ma205_aktivmonitor.htm?glp=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwlJimBhAsEiwA1hrp5u0PlwU3eFAz8IWXKwpbsnoqWzwfISNWRdMNl4KBdr9_fApdzbb9eBoCcc4QAvD_BwE
  5. I’m clearing out my music room as it’s a mess and I have too much stuff. These books are ones I don’t use (or have never used). All come with all CDs and may have minor pencil marks. Prices don’t include postage but will be sent at cost price.
  6. I had to carry mine across Bristol bridge (very busy!) and I only got one idiotic commment. I view that as a good result
  7. Music is therapy! Spent the morning with the kids, two gigs in the afternoon and evening and I feel a new person.
  8. I was a bit worried initially but it’s changed how I play and opened up huge opportunities.
  9. That’s a lovely way to put it. Our audience was an eclectic mix of kids, tourists, older people and drunks. A few kids came up and asked me about the bass which was really nice to see. It’s perhaps the best investment I’ve made in gear for years
  10. Bit of an update, I’ve gigged another 5 or so times and getting used to the instrument. (Currently paid back £400 of the initial outlay!) Yesterday I did a 3 hour session outdoors in the sun and the bass did indeed get hot. Thankfully not in the full glare of the sun as I reckon the reflection would blind someone. The bass really doesn’t sound like a full acoustic double bass, and the feedback can be a killer (unless you use a magnetic pickup) but the looks make up for it. As someone who prefers to blend into the background, you really can’t with an aluminium bass. People absolutely love it. But the weight makes moving it a bit of an annoyance. Finally, I may get a new fingerboard put on next year as the one I have had the bevel and I don’t like it.
  11. Not sure Sinead and Prince saw eye to eye (that’s not a joke about him being a midget but her allegations about his violence).
  12. I can’t stand Prince’s music, but even I recognise that the guy was a genius. A friend went to see him at the 02 and said he’d never seen a performer command a venue so big so confidently. That’s a skill in itself.
  13. My currently guitarist does this. Drives me up the effin wall.
  14. This is a present that has been in my guitar box but remains underused as I don’t use a pick! Works perfectly although there’s some discolouration to it. £12 delivered?
  15. I’d agree and add a fourth - it has to be reliable! Ive played hundreds of basses of all ages and types, from £10 (my first in 2001) to £10,000 (a 64 jazz I sold on here) and the one thing that matters to me now more than anything is that it works. I currently gig a £1500 Fender US jazz with a £100 Harley Benton or Squier as a backup. That’s it. All meticulously cared for, set up, and maintained.
  16. You should get a signed card from Tony Levin with it.
  17. Done! Thanks so much.
  18. Sorry not to respond just packing up for holiday. That’s a wonderful offer. Can we do when I back from holiday? Happy to make a donation to charity of your choice.
  19. Handmade guitar for £200. Madness! Good luck with the sale. The last Godin I had was an incredible guitar for an amazing price.
  20. This looks amazing. I can’t believe the quality of these modern Squiers. After swapping the pots and jack socket I’ve gigged my Squier for years.
  21. It’s a fully converted loft, so it’s just laying on the (heavily carpeted) floor! The roof eaves mean I can only have one bass on a stand and that’s the aluminium one. I think I’m going to sell the Bryant soon, although it pains me to do so.
