I've successfully sold a couple of basses through this forum - a Rickenbacker 4003 and a Takamine B10 - so I thought I'd offer my G&L ASAT. There are pictures and more details here These are rarely seen in the UK, but in the US they cost about the same as a Musicman Stingray, so any offers around £650?

...and the G was originally for George, as in Fullerton.
Yeah, the L in G&L stands for Leo, as in Leo Fender, its the company he founded after leaving Musicman, and G&L make very nice alternatives to Fender Precisions', Jazzs' & Musicman Stingrays, the Tributes are the cheaper non US guitars, but they are a good alternative to the Mexican Fenders, or just Leo Fender fans looking for a G&L instrument that won't break the bank.
I just wanted to say that this is a great little amp. I bought one just before Christmas. I have it paired with an EA Wizzy 10 250w cab. Yesterday I used it with a Taylor acoustic bass - it's the first time I've been able to use that bass live, up until now i couldn't get enough volume. Last week I used it wit a Sansamp pedal and a Rickenbacker. Again, great sound. I walked a mile from the car to the pub. Steve
I might come along in the hope of getting a snog from
Nellie
 Hahahaha - you thought I was going to say
Dood
then didn't you? We'll do our best to get there if Tinman hasn't already swanned off to the States for 3 months
Who is Nellie?

If I make it, I'll bring one, two or three of Acoustic Image Focus amp, EA Wizzy cab, Takamine upright, Pino precision, 1962 precision, Rickenbacker 4001c64. Do you have to be good at playing bass to attend, or can you just be an enjoyer? Steve

Peter bought a Rickenbacker from me. I like him.
I'm 99.9% certain that it hasn't. The neck is unvarnished though and has a zero fret. I would check but it's 10 min work to get them all out from the spare bedroom and 20 min to put them all away again, and I've not long done that The action is very low on the 'Macca' and the neck has just about zero relief like Ric recommend. It's definately a great neck to play. The neck on both the CS and the C64S does seem slimmer but then the newer 4003's are supposed to have the slimmer neck too.
I have the C64. I used to have the 4003 in the picture. I would say that the C64 has a slimmer neck. Steve

Peter, How do you like the 64S? I have the C64 in fireglo. It's great. Steve
I am one very happy bass bunny: 2005 4003 MG with VTC 2006 4001C64S 'Macca' As of today, thanks to 'Old Horse' Nick 'Murphy' 1999 4001CS 'Chris Squire' Peter
If you do this, let us know how it works out. I'd like to do the same thing. Steve -

This is a Takamine B10 bass that you can play "horizontally" on your lap, or use the supplied endpin to stand it up and play upright. This is a big bodied bass with a curved ebony fingerboard and 34" scale. It has a comprehensive preamp with volume, bass, middle, treble, advanced EQ, fedback eliminator and reverb. It has a built in tuner and you can save your settings. This is a big, beautiful bass with the biggest hard case you ever did see. This sounds more like a double bass than any other acousticbass guitar or upright electric I have ever played. Offers around £900? Steve

This is a bit of an odd instrument. Kydd call it an upright Picollo bass, but you can also tune it BEAD (an octave above the lowest four strings on a typical five string bass) or put cello strings on it and tune it like a cello. More Information here. <a href="http://www.kyddbass.com/" target="_blank">http://www.kyddbass.com/</a> Fernando Saunders plays the five sring version of this with Lou Reed. Offers around £500? Steve
