1. Oh, and, why the two Mastotrons? Using them in very different settings in a quick follow-up or so?
2. Nice and tidy! Although that one MIDI cable on the HUB seems horrifyingly pinched As for myself, I am looking for a compact MIDI cable to, to connect the HUB with other pedals on a dense and compact board...
3. Thanks for your reply! Honestly I'd have expected the Thumpinator much later in the chain, too. I mainly consider it as something protecting your speakers from extreme lows.
4. Nice setup man. It does resemble my own synth setup quite a bit, altough recently I swapped some pedals for a Line 6 M5/M9 and went the MIDI/preset-way. At home I simply plug in both of the signals into my two-channel Markbass LMK. BTW, where's that Thumpinator of yours? Is it the small Wee Lush at the bottom right? Q2, which software do you make these schemes with? I like them quite a bit.
5.
Here's my latest iteration. Be really interested in any feedback folks. Signal chain is: Ls2 Oc2 Subterranea Fimpact Syb5 Pitchfork Beef bag (meatbox) Freq box Orbit gated fuzz Frantabit Lpf Mf trem Xerograph Volume pedal Then back to the ls2 Finally nova repeater which lives off the board The reflex controls the pitchfork, syb5, freq box, mf trem and Xerograph (via the broadcast) Very interested on thoughts re the chain..
That looks like a very fun and synthy board to me! Where did you get that Beefbag from?
6. I took me quite some time, and I still did not manage to dial in a fully oldschool filter tone on the Manta. Despite it's endless possibilities it just doesn't seem to be designed for these tones... However, the Soundblox patches can be saved and shared! Some YT guy gave me a reasonably good starting point. You can check out me and his comments below this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7lRi-ErFkyc&lc=z13ftbpbgq3xf3vj504citngczbqjjiymhc.1485949319873401
7.
... I need a way to sustain one note and then continue playing under it. ....
A freeze will do perfectly what you want. I've owned both the Freeze and the SuperEgo. The latter might be overkill if you're just looking for a sustain pedal.
8. Note that I play rather softly, which my also be why the onboard cabsim us too dark for me. No stringbuzz, sparkling slapping or boosted treble is inherent to my sound.
9. Half of the time the DI out on the LeBass itself is used. In other situations I'm using a Palmer DI with high rollof put in chain after the LeBass. In addition to that I might mic up the cabinet when possible and when desired. All of this depending on which band I'm playing in (-> which effects / instrument i'm using).
10. Never had complaints like this from any of the 20 sound engineers in the past few months. I do tame my active basses a bit (with an Empress Biffer+) to level them out with my passive instruments, and the volume on the Le Bass is never over 3o'clock. What I still cannot understand is why the onboard cab simulation is way too dark. This from a company that makes the C.A.B.-series... It really sounds muffled, only useable if you're playing a Jazz with a pick with lots of grit to it, imo.
11.
Thanks mate. It's a GigRig QuarterMaster 6. I use the 6th loop just as a send to the tuner so it acts like a Mute switch. Although had the idea of using the output of the tuner and and the return on the QM6 like a patch point so I can insert a PT Nano with all my modulation on!
Thanks! Btw, which MIDI cables are you using? They look nice and compact. Could not find one of those yet.
12. Very clean board. Which effects looper is it you're using?
13. I'm one of the MXR BEF-lovers and Boss ODB-3 haters. Ugh! One other pedal I was completely underwhelmed by: the EHX Holy Grail... These SansAmp drivers...
14.
You want to make sure none of your pedals invert phase and if running a setup like that. In terms of a splitter, a Boss tuner will work if you happen to have one lying around. Otherwise, SFX make a mini splitter, although I can only see the mini mixer listed at the moment. He'd definitely make you one though, even if it's not on the site: http://sfxsound.com/micromix/
I do like the small footprint, although I would think there might be cheaper options for an active signal splitter? Is there any way I can find out whether my pedals switch phase?
15. Planning on ordering one in the near future, too. I think about splitting the signal right after my instrument, so the DOD all wet could go in one DI, and my clean signal can go into my other effects. Any thoughts on a splitter that would do?
16.
I just bought a Pedaltrain Metro 20 to house a few spare pedals but I got distracted and started messing about with some of my favourites, I ended up with this and I'm really happy with it. I'll be taking this board out for Saturday's gig. The phaser pedal is programmed for flange & chorus. Line6 G30 > Polytune Mini > Catalinbread boost > COG Knightfall 66 > COG Grand Tarkin > 3 Leaf GR2 > COG T-16 octave > Source Audio Lunar phaser.
Out of curiosity, what is powering your board?
17.
*whispers* I really like the tuner...
I do like that tuner, too. "If it just works, there's no need replacing it."
18.
Is anyone on here using this as a pre-amp , straight into a power amp , as their main rig . I've seen a lot using it as a pre-amp pedal as part of the board , but can't see if anyone is using it as a pre-amp proper
Depending on the band situation, I now use it in the FX return of my Markbass so it acts as a pre-amp. In other situations I just wire it to the input of my amp.
19. I would have suggested a CIOKS DC5 or Both John. Those would fit perfectly under your Nano / Metro , too.
20. Mh, curious about this pedal on bass, too. This might be a cheaper variant on the Iron Ether Subterrannea?
21. I agree on that both pedals are of good quality and would possibly provide extra options for your sound. However, - if you've already played around with them in the past - but then lost interest - and if you (and your bandmates, and your audience) are happy with your current sound > I'd say there is nothing wrong with your current setup, and you should just keep on playing the way you've liked it. Maybe you could have a new moment with the pedals to see if there really isn't anything 'extra' for you in those pedals. You could take them for a few gigs and see how you like them in live situations. You could start tweaking with someone who likes to use and knows how to use these effects. But if end up liking your classic tone, I'd say: sell the pedals and save the money for a new gigbag / strings / ... or for a nice present for someone you like. That's just me. (:
22. Oh and btw, what are these 'underneath'-ports like? I have never seen anything alike on bass guitar cabinets. I'd think it would make a great difference when using the cab horizontal or vertical, lifted on a stand or not, etc..
23. I ordered mine yesterday... Looking forward to fiddle around with it!
24. As I had some first posts on basschat, I guess I should show my rig in this thread as an introduction (:
