1. Get LeBlond to make one for you.
2. Lay the bass on it's back on a bed. Loosen the strings enough to unhook the tailpiece from the spike holder. Take the spike holder out. Withdraw spike. Put everything back together with new spike in. WARNING. When the strings are not tight the sounpost might collapse if you move the instrument around. It SHOULD be ok, but it is at your own risk.
3. I have some Status ones on my Status and they just tone it down nicely. The bass is very alive and the nylons just take the upfront nature off. I like them. They are nice and slide-y as well.
4. With a whammy bar for pitch bend and a dedicated mod toggle.
5. I have just bought a You Rock Guitar. I am triggering synths within Logic with no latency. The future is here.
6. I have been playing at the local Baptist church for the last 26 years. I am in charge of the PA and we all DI. I am located near the sub so all is good
7.
Howa you getting on with the Tecamp Owen?
The Tecamp is great, but I am doing a complete overhaul of everything and going totally modular. Exciting times
8.
How about the price thing now?
D'oh! Basic error! I got a bit emotional. £1150 to your door.
9. Bergantino IP310. This is a 3x10 + proper compression driver horn. It has a 1000w power amp on board with full DSP which means the cab is EQ'd flat. It has compression in the DSP as well for protection and maximising SPL. I hate compression, because I hate not having full control over my dynamics. This is not and never has been an issue here. You just need to add your pre-amp of choice. It speaks with an authority which I have not experienced anywhere else. It just reaches all the way down with a contemptuous ease, as if it is saying "is that the best you have got?". I use it with 5 string bass guitar, 5 string EUB and 5 string Double Bass. It lets them all breathe clearly and easily. The 5 string DB gives it a workout and it does not break a sweat. Is it loud? Yes. Does it sound the same at low volume as it does at high? Yes - the tone remains the same, just louder. Can I make the speakers bottom out and flap? Yes, but by then I am painfully loud and volume wise it is way louder than anything else I have been able to make fart. If it is all that, why am I selling? If it does not sell I will not be sad (and if it does I will miss it), but my needs are changing and I need to free up the £ I have in this to buy different kit. I will do the picture thing soon.
10. It is silly light, but bigger than I need as my small amp. I am having a radical amp re-assessment and everything is going. The wheels are well designed and trundle along nicely. It is tall enough to be easy to wheel.
11. I am buying these because I have to try them all. I am actually pretty happy with my strings at the mo' so drop me a pm if you would like to be next in line if they are not for me.
12. I'd like to try them. Drop me your paypal.
13. "Your 'cello looks great and it sounds like a bass guitar" My avatar will give you a clue as to what I was playing. Why do I bother.
14. Thanks Y'all. Clarky, I had kind of clocked your thread and then forgot it. I had a lead on an AI focus 2 from TB but that fizzled out. I am possibly going to go for a radical rig overhaul but that is not finished thought process yet so the purchase of something now is not an option- there are many variables I need to work out before I actually drop the £ (including selling what I have!).
15. Acoustic Image used to do their Focus (400w into 8, 800w into 4 + 1Kw into 2) as a power amp only module. I have preamps that meet my needs but would love a very small power amp which is nice and gutsy. I used to drive a Berg NV610 with an AI Focus 2 and it rocked so I know it has the grunt. Does anyone make just a power amp module of that size?
16. Just chucking this up before going out tonight. I will get more details and pics up later. [s]£700[/s] £620 inc
17. He had this thing that I did not know I needed. I paid and it came the next day. Most excellent.
18. I bought his complete XLR to jack collection. Everything was cool

Thanks all. That has helped me set this year's exam paper. I will be back in about a year for more
Big +1.
As I'm sure I have said somewhere in this thread, I totally agree. However, being able to spot a bad edit is kind of useful for a budding engineer and if the guitar had been tuned before the take, it cannot hurt
21. I will take the Jack to xlr adapters. PM me payment details if I am in time.

Resurecting this thread due to me setting an exam next week and wondering if anyone had anything to add to the pot? TIA
