  1. Realistically speaking, I may not have time to give all of the entries a decent listening to before the deadline. I promise to do better on Thursday. Just don't ask me which one.
  2. I keep saying I'll submit something one day but I never do... on either of those topics. I think I have almost a whole minute of my playing on here and that's from two separate clips. I can not argue.
  3. Also, Show us your playing videos! is where folk drop their clips of performances or practice recordings.
  4. Don't be so sure. I think there are members who, like myself, have nothing to go on other than hearsay. Electric bass and double bass, while not being mutually exclusive, tend to polarise players. There are lots who do both but I don't think that they are a majority. Personally, I am keen to learn about both. I don't play an upright. That isn't to say that I never will. Slap, as it's generally known, has a lot of nonsense associated with it. You yourself have said as much in your earlier posts. To make sense of it, perhaps it is best to look at the whole thing. I think this is important now more than ever as the lines between upright and electric bass are becoming blurred.
  5. But we can't load up, load up, load up with rubber numbers now can we? It would be good to see you there if you are able after all that's been happening.
  6. Frank has kindly given me his used guitar rack on receipt of his new one. He wouldn't let me pay postage either. Very generous and much appreciated.
  7. Dave has passed on a nice used set of Ernie Ball Slinky strings to me free of charge. Very kind, much appreciated.
  8. JJ Cale's Mama didn't want no guitar bass drumming piano reefer but that didn't stop anyone from doing all of those things... AND... all at the same time. So there.
  9. Play Bay City Rollers' tracks on that tartan axe. That'd scare the bejebus out of most rodents.
  10. Welcome Neil.
  11. GP always says that Toy Matinee goes down well in the 'States but not so well here. I like what I've heard of the band so far. I will enjoy that link after supper. Cheers
  12. It may take a little time to get used to the B. I found I was pushing it over the edge of the fret trying to get a solid note at first. Over time you get a better feel of how to get it to stand up for itself alongside the EADG.
  13. I'm sure you will have a selection of willing volunteers to practice your engineering skills on for free to get you there. Great topic.
  14. Foxy Trax Production
  15. Welcome Maz.
  16. Indeed. I'm not even bothered about there not being a volute! I like the headstock detail, specifically the raised laminations on the centreline.
  17. David Bowie - Serious Moonlight Tour, Vancouver 1983 It's on right now until six this evening.
  18. Those shut lines are perfect! Socket screws as well? Splendid.
  19. Wichita Linesman? Great song. It can even make Steve Wright's show seem interesting.
  20. Welcome B.
  21. There may well be a "tasting".
  22. I've asked Jack to make his Oats Pie. It's loaded with butter, golden syrup and jam.
  23. If he ever grows a beard, we're changing his screen name to Captain Birdseye!
  24. It would be great to see you there Owen. Even if it's only to compare a five string upright with the electric ones.
