Javier bought my CS '64. Good communications, was very patient even though it took me a week to actually ship it and a prompt payer.

I'll give another vote for Barefaced. They are far superior cabs to the GK MB series. I recently sold my Trace Elliot 1153 1x15", and one prospective buyer was stunned at how much better it sounded than his MB212, and the TE is a 15 year old cab!

Small combo or small cab? Advice gratefully received

The Trace 1153 is a 1x15 rated at 200watts and 8 ohms. these are great sounding cabs. It's as good as anything comparable I've ever owned. Excellent condition. It's a few years old but looks like it's had a very easy life Weight is a not too back breaking 49lbs. £100 collected. I work in Guildford so can meet within reason Review by Tombowlus here http://www.talkbass....hootout-358077/ Pics here http://s1140.photobu...llpiece/Orange/
Another Barefaced that needs 1000 watts?
I don't think he said it needs 1000 watts
Well, now my rig looks like this I can add comment. Basically... Jesus! It's very well built, has a very and even uncoloured sounding tone, weighs nothing and allows me to release the full 1000W from the Puma making it shockingly loud. The tweeter adds a subtle sparkle up top which to be honest I'm finding nearly unnecessary as the midrange driver sounds so good. And the midrange driver can also be fully unleashed by another switch adding a lot of aggression to the tone if you want it. It only arrived today, but I'm wondering why on earth I never did this months ago considering the ability to take a trial is always there. Much though I love my Bergs, I can't see them surviving this.
Is that a Big Baby with a tweeter? They look very interesting
I've always found that courier prices go through the roof if you want to go direct and insure for over £1,000.
That's what I've found with the couple who do offer insurance over £1000. It adds something like £70-80 to the cost.

I'm still a bit fuzzy about this. Supposing I ship it with Interparcel/UPS. Once it's in France does it get handed over to an unknown French courier.

Thanks for your replies. Looking on the Interparcel website, as far as I can see they only offer insurance up to £1050. As I'm selling this bass for £1400 that's quite a shortfall. Are there any other couriers who will offer the full amount?
-
I'm investigating the possibility of shipping a bass to France. Having a quick skim through the courier threads it seems the most popular is UPS/Interparcel. Will they insure it for the full amount. Would anyone concur with this or suggest another courier. I'm assuming that it'll be fairly straightforward as it's within the EU or am I being too optimistic?

I'm reluctant to sell this but as always I buy a Jazz because it seems like a good idea and then come to the conclusion that I prefer Precisions, so it's got to go. It's a great player with the usual Custom Shop build quality. Even I can race around the fretboard on this one. It's in pretty much new condition with just a few tiny dinks in the finish, but finished in relic friendly nitrocellulose. Pictures here because I can't get the uploader to work. http://s1140.photobu...smo_Smallpiece/ I'm looking for £1250 posted within the UK. I can meet halfway or come to you, within reason, at my expense. Probably a long shot but I'll trade this for a Dreadnought Acoustic 6 string of similar value like Martin, Guild, Atkin, Collings, Dave King etc.

£300, £350 and £400. How come some of us can see them and some can't?
