  1. Micheal Jackson was found to be innocent in court. Twice. I have and would still play his songs, wouldn't have anything to do with Paed Townshend's music though.
  2. Wait, it's hundreds of trillions of pounds? I knew Warwicks had gone up but I didn't know they were that bad!
  3. Yeah I agree with this, there's no "chops" requirement to own any level of instrument. The guy in the video can play decently enough too, does some fast metal w/pick passages in his videos and sounds very good doing it. He's just not a fretless fingerstyle player yet so understandably sounds like he hasn't got to grips with it. I wish I had the spare cash lying around to justify splurging 5 figures on a bass unsuited to my gigs and playing style, hell of a bass to learn fretless on that's for sure!
  4. You can get a used German Warwick Corvette for less than the price of a new Rockbass if that's the bass you like. In the sub £1k price bracket there's lots to choose from, I would try a few and see what string spacing you get on with. Either way Cort, Ibanez, Sire, Yamaha as mentioned above are all good options, some of the premium Ibanez SR basses have high end pickups and the used price takes a big hit so if you like tight string spacing then I'd look at those. There's an SR1305SB on Facebook at the moment for £625.
  5. If you really like a bass and are gigging it but see shortcomings in the hardware (which might be functional but is an obvious cost saving measure) then it would make sense to replace with something to your liking. I gigged a Sire as my main bass for years and did some (reversible) mods, only one of which (Nordstrands) made it sound better. The Schallers I put on there made it a better bass to gig though as did the metal knobs which sorted the somewhat cluttered bell plate. It turned a bass I really liked into a bass i really liked. If you're sensible and keep the original parts in case you want to move it on then modding can be very cost effective, especially if you source used parts to begin with.
  6. I'll get some pics and figure a price out and shoot you a message over the next few days.
  7. Yeah still have the original box so shouldn't be a problem. Also has the QSC carry bag and locking IEC cable etc.
  8. Crikey just seen the price of used K10.2, they were going for around £350-£400 on eBay not so long ago. I'll be moving mine on in the not too distant future once I can sort a loaner cab out for the odd gig where I can't use IEMs.
  9. Seven Nation Army is a piece of cake! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGpnT_nU724
  10. The colour is way off as well, looks like it's been dunked in custard.
  11. Most of my experience with Westones was with a White Spectrum I used to play all the time at school, belonged to the dad of a lad I was in a band with. Nowt up with it, funnily enough I went round another mate's last year to sort out a little corn snake he'd rehomed and he had a black Spectrum sat in the corner he'd been given by a family member. Had a quick blast on it and it was equally decent as the other one.
  12. Spotted this scratty looking thing https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/161239970068617/?ref=facebook_story_share Twenty squid like
  13. Wasn't even trying to be an accurate copy, surprised it made it onto the website. Surely they'll have the seller's details? Wouldn't think any shop would take a high value used item in without some form of ID.
  14. Allow yourself to be underpaid and it's always going to happen unfortunately, depends if you're happy doing it I guess. I'd can the jam night stuff personally but again if the positives outweigh the negatives then it might be a bridge you don't want to risk burning, probably at least tell the singer you can't ferry him about. We've always done things straight down the middle, if someone does more driving for out of town gigs then they get extra.
  15. Going off his videos he's a pick player in a metal band, no complex parts but sounds good and keeps it pretty tight at a decent speed. Gonna guess he's not spent much time trying to do Jaco impressions. Not really my thing but Warwicks sound a bit good through Darkglass.
  16. That's a great shout for a mini cab for living room playing, totally forgot about it.
  17. The preamp in mine went years ago, unfortunately the little mics inside the bridge assembly are active and need to be powered so you can't just put a different preamp in, I made a new bridge with an undersaddle piezo strip (you can repurpose a cheap acoustic bass bridge for this) and have married that to a few different standard preamps. That's probably the most cost effective and future proof method of getting one of these back to working condition, several people had problems with the preamps IIRC. When mine failed I contacted Aria and Soloette who licensed their twin condenser mic design to Aria for the Sinsonido, the former were useless (think they're just a sales team over here really) and the latter were very helpful but as the preamp design is Aria's they couldn't really do much. Nice people though. They aren't rare btw, they were a production bass and went through several design changes (different body styles and number of body wings), seen plenty of fretted/fretless ones over the years and if you wait a while one will turn up for sale although prices (for the basses anyway) are a lot higher than they once were - they were around £200-£250 when I bought mine. The guitar versions are still going for around £200 on eBay.
  18. The Trace 1x10 cabs are very compact small boxes - 12" x 12.5" x 14", unfortunately they only do the 1x8 in combo form.
  19. Seemed more like an advert for the Warwick custom shop than a gear demo, I suppose if you have that sort of money to throw around and that's what you want then why not. Looking at his channel he is/was a gigging player and already has a custom 7 string Thumb. He's a Warwick endorsing artist but that probably stems from chucking 5 figures at their custom shop on more than one occasion.
  20. Nice looking bass there.
  21. Can't do a NBD without pics, you know the rules!
  22. I gigged a Chinese Aria IGB55 for a while which had what I presume to be the same MM pickup, sounded brilliant. Swapped it out for a Seymour Duncan Basslines as one came up cheap (can turn down £30!) but there wasn't that much of a difference tbh.
  23. Get some pics up then!
  24. Bridge might be a little too far back to make it a decent headless conversion as the tuners will stick out a fair bit. Might be worth waiting for a used BZ5000 to turn up instead which is the more upmarket version but also looks to have more space behind the bridge Also all the HBZ/BZ 5 strings have tight spacing, think it's 16.5mm which put me off.
  25. It's been on eBay for ages that, the last revision to the listing was back in 2021. Seller has probably sold it, forgot it was listed and is just ignoring your messages. They also only have 2 feedback and I'm assuming the recent negative one is yours! There's another one listed which might be worth watching and waiting for a price drop: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255990565923?hash=item3b9a3a0c23:g:ncsAAOSwAg9i1l2-&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAkL%2FW9z0teV%2B5X8nxlbgeeI8yTQJohusq94RZAwMUhwMLaUZrhSSfBR7VXiSZ6ijsF2V8lB6%2ByPVGzVshUEqORPd3%2Bpyp%2BJHwtcv8LB0KL4gKUwNJTnRCkORm1oQVPMAoY9LYJThkQhEFbTTSFIFwU8h6corDyDeGWdw2Ug2QSG9FwYATFtBabeIobhNxHhasoQ%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR_z_-6HUYQ Not one of the nice tops though, some of them look like this: I think @Bassassin has/had a very nice one as well.
