1. My most expensive instrument is my Zoot Deluxe Custom. I paid £710 for it (with flightcase), which is not a lot for a custom luthier built instrument. At first i thought it had more features than i need and that i wouldn't be using stuff like the D-tuner or the high pass switch, but they come in handy. Plus it's got shedloads of ebony on it
2.
Just try MC 900ft jesus, quaanum & Jurassic 5. you will love them........Hip Hop is like any other music nowadays there is some amazing hidden Gems but is over shadowed by the "Me- money-Me-Money-me-bitches-me-bitches-Me-Hoes-Me-Hoes-Me-Cars-me-Cars-ooo-Did-EYE-TELL-YOU-I-HAVE-....repeat"Crap....grrrrr
I always loved De La Soul! There's something about Eye Know that makes it a joy to listen, it's one of the most beautifully simple tunes i've ever heard. Always puts a big stupid grin on my dish every time it comes on! It's the same with Mr. Wendal, although i listened to Arested Development's entire back catalogue and didn't like anything on there apart from People Everyday
3. There's an ampeg 8x10 on here for £300 i think! Stick the Hartke head on top of that and you'd have a monster rig for well under budget
4. How about a Warmoth Jazz? Walnut body, pau ferro neck and fingerboard, schaller tuners and gotoh bridge. It's active with a pair of duncans in it and is a lined fretless
5. There has to be a minimum for a USA MM though, even if a ray sells at under £600 i think half that for a SUB is unreasonable. If i bought a SUB for £400 i'd be very happy with it, if i sold one for any less i'd be gutted! Btw i can actually get a SUB for less than that, my housemate is selling a SUB 4 if anyone knows a potential buyer? I think he paid around £600, so with an ABS case (the bass is pretty much as new) i think it should fetch £400
6. Just out of interest, is that a non-standard mains plug coming out of the back?
7.
I was under the impression that the perceived (pre credit crunch) re-sale value of a SUB was ~£350. Some nice Rays have been seen to go sub 500 lately. It just don't add up.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=330273275945 EDIT: Just realised you have an eerily similar rig to me, LMII, schroeder cab, korg tuner, FX25b, JD bass wah...... I was thinking of buying my mate's SUB a few months back too!
8. One went for £465 plus £16p+p last week. It was in an ABS case with genuine 'ray scratchplate. I'll try dig out the link somewhere, there was quite a bit of interest in it seeing as genuine rays struggle to fetch not much more!
9.
AFAIK Hartke amps have always been made in the Far East, even the early models? (Used to have initials on back panel stating made in 'PROC' or maybe 'PROK',either China or Korea etc.) Hartke advertising used to strongly imply it was all USA manufactured despite this I believe. Not that its a problem for me - great sounding amps at great prices and reliable too in my experience. With the new range looks like they're on to a winner. Some of my favourite players have used 'em too-Jack Bruce at the Cream reunion gigs, and Gary Tallent with The E Street Band.
The earlier HA series were USA, as were the Kickback combos a few years ago. My housemate has a USA Kickback 15" and it's noticeably better quality. All the A and B series are chinese though AFAIK

11.
Dibs on the pedal case if you're near Blackpool
Ah yes i forgot it was you that messaged me! It's been a long day............
12. Dibs on the pedal case if you're near Blackpool
13. I had barts in my Squier Standard Jazz and i thought they sounded fantastic, made a cracking bass even better! The ones i had were 9J or something like that. Sold em to bassmandan when i decided i didn't need the Squier so give him a shout.
14. Only 6 bids and not even £400? That neck is to die for!
15.
I've concluded that he plays cheesy music and he looks like Super Mario.
16. Got someone interested in the head so with any luck it'll just be the 2 cabs for sale although nothing's concrete yet! EDIT: Cheers Steve, it is a big ass rig! And happy birthday darbs!
17. £300 for an ampeg tower? Times is hard!
18. More pics up as requested!
19.
The LH series are part of the new HyDrive rigs, don't think they're replacing the HA series.
I think they may eventually phase them out though, obviously there's still some stock to shift but the HA5500 is competing with the littlemark etc price-wise and pretty much all Hartke's production has been shifted to china now, so i think they're going the ultra budget route. As a plus point this means bass players have a well-built and good-sounding alternative to behringer! As a minus it means all of us who paid £500+ for our amps aren't getting half of that back
20.
I've got the amp! That was fast. It's in great condition - I guess an amp like this hasn't had to put up with too many rockn'roll gigs. It's a little later in the evening than I'd want to crank it up with the double bass, but I've given it a quick check with my fretless electric. It's very, very clean and flat sounding, like DIing into a desk, so much so that it really shows up the deadness of my strings! Good high end clarity though. I can imagine using some kind of preamp to get a more characterful sound for electric, but I reckon it'll be great with the double bass. Reverb is nice too, i can picture using it with bowed DB.
Sounds like an absolute steal then!
21. Hartke A70, ended up gigging with it 4 times, always through the PA but was loud enough to keep up with the 2 drummers i used it with. Wouldn't stand a chance with our current tub-thumping ogre though!
22.
Winner is who bids most first, so they are only gonna beat you if they bid more than you. I always bid as early as I decide how much I'm willing to spend. Which is rarely very much. I've snagged quite a few nice things, and for silly low bids. Scored a P copy with EMGs in it for a very low bid. You can only get lucky if you chance it.
I'm the same, though not with bass stuff. Everything bass-wise i've watched has gone for a lot more than i was willing to pay (bar one bass, which i won!) Snagged a fully working laptop (bar the battery) with decent spec and XP licence for £35 a few months ago, typing on it now! Worth it for the 60gig hard drive!
23. I bought my Zoot bass then registered on here a few days later. Just out of interest searched the forum for zoot basses and found the original owner!
