  1. I have one of these along with 2 Groove Tube Ditto’s and a Summit TD-100. They are great value for the money. Often I’ve run the Groove Tubes into it so that I can convert the XLR out to a 1/4 inch jack. Either way they are very handy to add a further tube stage to your signal. The Summit TD-100 primarily due to the impedance control is the one that in recent memory made me go wow. The Groove Tubes does appear on my favourite recordings of myself. I’m hoping to get into a studio in December and do a shootout. I did one last year with a Acme Motown, Countryman Type 10, Neve and Radial Stagebug. The results were surprising as I found the Neve “boring” and the Radial very very close in sound to the Motown (this has been confirmed to several other players I’ve sent it on to) However once you start turning on those studio EQs and compressors all the differences easily disappear. Countryman has been my go to for years, Stagebug is my travel DI and then trying to figure out which Tube DI is the main one for studio work. I also picked up a Radial Dragster to stick in front of the Groove Tubes and see if I can get everything I love out of the Summit with everything I love out of the GT. Summit does fit in a gigbag though.
  2. Works fine straight into GarageBand, thats how I record. You do have to go into the app settings for the monitoring to get it right.
  3. Surprising the mustang doesn’t have the lollipop tuners, getting closer and closer to my ideal bass.
  4. Interesting, I’ve never seen a blue one. I’m planning on getting a Musicmaster later this year and hoping for an earlier one, though the later “white” ones with the black pg and proper tuners do look a lot nicer.
  5. Start with 100% octave down, probably the Bass Octaver though not as synthy as some might like. Following that some modulation, I’m having a lot of fun with Octaver into a Vibrato currently, maybe a sansamp model between them just to phatten up some of the sound. The key for synth sounds is always starting with that 100% octave down to remove your attack and give you a more keyboard like attack, most people will then go fuzz and filter but if you can get the octaver sounding a bit gritty (which I’ve done with EQ) then modulation gives it the movement most synth lines are played with.
  6. Oh forgot to say and I may have mentioned this previously but it’s also my recording setup. What I’ve found is at most I need to do scratch demos for people prior to going into the studio. This is bass - nux - usb c to iPad - headphones out of the nux You mess a bit with the settings in the phone app but you can live monitor what you’re recording. I’ve done some stuff this way and am working on a project now for a friend. I really need to test if it will send the fx into the daw. But it’s super simple and just 1 cable. Just all in all a really handy solution for practice and recording, I’ve loaded some shiftline irs on and mainly just use it clean with the Aggie amp sim. Also did by one else notice you can drag and drop the fx blocks into different orders 💁🏼‍♀️ Compression after amp sims is quite nice.
  7. It does make practice easier as it’s always just ready to go. The usb c means all my devices use the same cable (more or less) But, I am sure the mp2 had less noise than the pro. I kept the mp2 in a gigbag in the US so I don’t have to take anything there. But the usb c is more convenient so that’s what I carry with me and any noise is unnoticeable when playing with songs.
  8. I’ve found them all to be very similar. My main one is the Uniclip as recommended by many others but when I bought a 2nd and it got lost in the post I got one of these. I currently carry a cheap no name one I picked up at the only music store I could find in one country. Also seems to work fine. https://www.daddario.com/products/accessories/tuners/micro-headstock-tuner/ Works just as well, screen isn’t as clear as well it’s tiny but the plus side is it’s tiny. I also had my Uniclip leave indentations on the my Ric headstock (more so due to the soft gloss nitro finish) but it’s work noting. Studio and serious live work I have the Peterson Strobostomp HD, rest of the time any of the clips work fine.
  9. You’ll be wanting the Boss Waza Air Bass then
  10. I’ve ended up buying a Cioks4 Powering from USB C is probably more my goal than battery, just nice to have the flexibility. I find myself struggling to have anything more than a Nano but I am going to try the D’addario XPND with a view that maybe that will stop me buying and selling nanos all the damn time.
  11. Bought this from the forum around the same time I bought a JF Capo. Great gritty boost, just adds a bit of magic to the tone but I’ve got loads of things that do that. Great condition but no box. Not really looking for any trades at this time. For more info see https://www.wrenandcuff.com/products/phat-phuk-b
  12. Only back in Bogota currently, 5 hours I fly to BA very excited though. First flight for the Gruv Gear Kapsulite so will see how that holds up

Closing this as seems little interest and GAS is getting the better of the recipients of the CAPO

  15. That’s what I’ve ordered, but I have 3 other mustangs they can go on.
  16. I’ll check and get back to you later. But if my scales calls me fat I’ll be very annoyed 😂

  18. This is for sale This is no bad thing, I didn’t like a fodera I tried recently for the same neck finish. Colour is 😍
  19. So I spend most of my time outside of the U.K. and with travelling I’ve fallen in love with shortscale fenders (in guitar gigbag) for this purpose. As such went a bit nuts. I’m a sucker for basses with matching headstocks. This is the sonic blue colour but it is greener than shots online would have you believe but not quite surf green. So this is my current 5th shortscale and I tried it for the first time last night. Basically it needs new strings (I can include some unopened La Bellas for £50) a setup and a neck shin and for me once all of this is done it still won’t have the really thick varnish of the Vintage Modified Squiers and my Rickenbacker that I love. So that’s my personal preference and before I go any further I wonder if this might be perfect for someone who likes the mustang but doesn’t like the thick vintage gloss on the neck, this is probably closer to my JMJ in feel. I got it from the original owner who bought it in 1997, it has 1 chip on the headstock shown on the picture and some very small hairline cracks around the heel. I’d put it about 8/9 out of 10 condition. So I’m looking at moving this on for what I paid before I go to the effort of (what is an hours work for someone) Everything works as it should and the pickup is very full and balanced (and I assume far better than the strat pickup the fender musicmasters came with). It will come with a Thomann Beat bass gig bag which fits perfectly. I can ship at buyers expense but I’d prefer collection so you can see and confirm condition and ensure you’re happy with everything.
  20. Since you’ve swapped the bridge you wouldn’t have the old cover would you? I’ve been after one for ages for my Kay. else glwts
  21. So I’ve somehow ended up with 5 short scales but they are great basses for travel. All of mine fit in guitar bags. Getting this Friday
