Still can't get on with an octave, feel I'll be moving it on but in favour what?
Dibs and I'd suggest the aguilar octamizer unless you don't like octave as an effect
I've been using a laptop with Native Instruments Guitar Rig Kontrol for 5 years now which means I could take my laptop to a gig instead of multi effects (assuming I didn't mind risking some plonker spilling beer on it at some point).. I'm not clear on how the iOS is an improvement, can anyone enlighten me?
Few things Software is cheaper Touch screen is a big plus for changing settings in a live situation You can run it off your phone which is 10th the size of your laptop It's not better just a different approach to a concept that's been around for years but it's so much easier now than it was 5 years ago in my opinion

I have to admit my utter gas for an axefx and kemper that made me look at what was possible with iOS modelling (since I was already using it for looping) I'd defo start of small before grabbing a kemper or axe mainly because it looses a lot of value if you're not using it in a studio and live you're still lugging round a power amp and cab. If you can survive with the PAs available, you have IEMs or you're mainly in the studio then go for it. I personally have a lot of experience of getting my sound from a Di pedal etc, but nothing even now can beat the sound of a good valve amp behind you, and my iOS rig is the compromise of tone (of a big valve amp) over portability, it certainly sounds better than the modern amps I've tried and is effectively tiny. A sansamp is a good starting point, if you can be happy with that then you'll be ecstatic with a Kemper
surely it'd look better with a minty fresh pearl flanger sat next to it? I used one of the octavers the last time I was in the studio, really great pedals..
yeah yeah now you see why I must resist spent a fortune on fx this month

It can be very enjoyable recording however you want I just always take a better safe than sorry approach to it all

I thought about the 365 but am concerned that if my bass is on my back then how do I put another bag on my back and if my pedalboard is at my side I have the same issue there as well.
That looks good, where's that from?
No idea I was given it, I want another one and have no idea what to get or where to look.

Wow you gig with no cables?

Here you can see it just after the studio, the only thing removed are the full sized akg headphones. If I'd have thought a head I could have ditched one of the bags I took this weekend and put my laptop etc in this. Also has enough space for 2-3 days of clothes

Reviving this thread as interested to see what people are using. Generally I keep everything I need to use that bass with in the gig bag, so a cable, a tuner and a few patch leads. Then I have my pedalboard with specifics to it that allow me to fix any issues with the pedalboard For a while I used aluminium suitcases but they become such a mess with you just dumping stuff in. On and off for the past two years I've been using a pilot/air steward(ess) bag, it's got 4 large zip compartments, individual pockets that fit pedals (I can get like 10 in at a time) plus areas for cables that are all divided off so I have instrument, speaker and power all in easy to find spots. I am looking for something else though, not sure why maybe it's because the bag is so useful for work and weekends away I want to have something ready to grab for the stage and studio at any time, the gruv gear stadium and mono 365 have me interested but with a bass on my back not sure I could use these comfortably
