1. I'm wondering if someone is up for building me a box that allows me to use 2 8ohm cabs in series instead of parallel so that I can use them with my old tube amps that will only go as low as 8ohm. Cheers
2. My guitarist is interested in this can you PM me your name and number and I'll get him to give you a call about it. Cheers
3. This is an excellent condition Euphonics Audio NM410. This cab is the biggest and loudest cab EA do. I bought it because I use 2 CXL112's with my Iamp800 and I was looking for something lighter than the pair but just as big sounding but as time went on I stopped using the Iamp800 and went with a Mesa 400+ and now I'm looking at brand matching and getting away from EA cabs since I won't have their flagship amp (see other items for sale) so my loss is your gain. Blurb from the website Ultimate performance and portability. The EA NM-410 represents the state of the art in speaker cabinet design. The design goal of the NM-410 was to create a high power 4x10 cabinet that was loud, light weight, and provided a truly focused sound throughout the listening environment. More drivers mean more volume. More drivers also mean more interference between those drivers. This compromise, between volume and focus was, until now, a reality of playing 4x10 cabinets. The NM-410 changes all of that. The NM-410’s side vented, “M” shaped Transmission Line, proprietary Neodymium drivers, and innovative design have created a cabinet that is both extremely loud and presents a totally focused sound at any point in the listening environment. The imported Poplar plywood and Neodymium speakers keep this, the ultimate 4x10, at a reasonable 76 pounds. With all of the cutting edge design, technology and features such as its built in wheels, the NM-410 is truly the envy of the class. More Volume, Massive Tone, Less Weight! Configuration: 4 x 10" Woofer: 4 Custom Neodymium Kevlar 10" Tweeter: 1" Titanium Compression Driver Tweeter Level Control: located on rear connection panel Frequency Response: 45Hz to 14kHz Sensitivity: 103dB @ 1m Sound Pressure Level: 133dB @ 1m Power Handling: 1000 watts Impedance: 8 ohm Connection: Two Speakon Size: 25"W x 22"H x 18"D Weight: 76 lbs (34.5 kg) Handle: One removable handle & integrated casters The cab is in excellent condition and I have the screws for the speaker grill I just took them out so I could remove the grill for the Auction pictures, it comes with a removable telescopic handle and has built in casters so it's a dream to move and really with the Neo speakers its an easy one person lift. These cabs retail for around £1300 and there are very few in the country. Ideally I want £700 for this cab but I'm open to offers. Cheers
4. Now on ebay will do a deal for any longstanding Basschat member http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...E:IT&ih=020
5. Yeah I thought as much when I checked the cabs but though hey maybe there is 2 inches of foam each side. But I might be selling my 4x10 and buying another so never know. Cheers
6. I've checked my cab and it will fit all except the width can you check and see if it would take 25inches on the width? Cheers
7. Bump for price dromp on pre amp valves. Power ones going on ebay tonight, same with the pre's if no one bites.
8. Ah that's a bit iffy for what I want to use it with (Old tube head 7.5 and 15 so 6 is a little out of the range) Cheers anyway
9. One last try any interest for a barely used NM410? I'm determind to have a wall of cxl's behind me
10. What are the impedances available on the cab?
11. It's funny the cxl's are exactly like mine one L and one E
12. I'd love to have the 2 cxl's so I can have 4 to use with my Mesa 400+ but I don't suppose you'd want another Iamp800
13. Right I have the tubes here my tech tested them and said they all work fine they are Brimar (Made in England) ECC83's I have 4 of them and I'll take £8 each shipped allthese tubes are used not NOS but still plenty of life in them the power tubes again working fine but used are 2 x Mullard EL34's (Made in Great Britain) I will presume here a matched pair I'll sell them £35 quid for the pair or £20 separately 2 x unmarked EL34's again I presume a matched pair but they are old - £20 for the pair I can attempt to take pictures but it is a glass blub so you know. Cheers Edit for price drop
14. Well the preamp tubes you can just throw in there so if I've got what you need then you can do that. It just need a bias tweak but I personally just revalve and service the whole thing but on a whole modern tubes sound quite different to the old ones. But you are probably best calling your tech. When I get in I'll list brand, model and price of each tube and you can decide what you want if any. Cheers
15. I've played through it. It sounds naff
16. What you will find is if you buy old power tubes is you probably won't need to bias it as they were made to much higher quality specs back in the day but these EHX ones that you could use are newer say 2-5 years old (Not used for the past 2-3 years) Are you sure your current tubes need replacing?
17. TBH something like that you want fully retubed and rebiased personally I pay people to do that as you can have upwards of 700volts sitting around in componants in it. Replaceing preamp tubes isn't a problem but power ones is regarded as a major service (waits for a load of people to jump in and claim it's as easy as changing a light bulb) Now if you buy all the tubes second hand and get some vintage ones for that tone and just get a professional to fit them then it can be quite cheap So it's up to you. Really this thread is for the preamps that should go to people with DHA type pedals and the power tubes I'm going to sell to guitarist with boutique single tube 15-30w amps. Basically I don't want to sell anything that you end up killing yourself with.
18. Well I've got some EHX 6l6's lying around that were taken out of my Mesa 400+ when a single tube blew which meant because it was a matched 12 set I had to replace the lot. and I have a replacement for your 12AX7 so that wouldn't be a problem I'll look at getting them all checked later today or something. The 6L6's if you want 2 which will be matched because the set of 12 was matched I'#ll do for a a few quid less than what they are new from the cheapest online dealer.
19. I had this made before Pedaltrain offered them, it's in pretty good condition, very light and fully fitted to a PT JR. I'd like about £45 for this and postage maybe a bit if you need it fast. I've got pictures PM me if interested. Cheers
20. I've got some various vintage tubes lying around if any one is interested I will have them tested and sent out. I have some EL34's and some ECC83c's which are drop in replacements for 12ax7's Prices will vary depending on what type they are but I haven't had chance to go through the lot and get find out the brands yet. I'm fairly certain some of these are Mullards but like I say I've not gone through the preamp tubes yet.
21. Thought I'd never part with this but Aria FL-10 flanger - Very good condition for a 20+ year old pedal, works flawlessly. This is very unique in design in the fact the the footswitch does On/Off/Hold this allows you to access 2 rate settings. This was recently seen on Juan Alderette of The Mars Volta's pedalboard - £45 Also Boss FZ-2 fairly good condition I think it has a few scratches here and there like most older boss pedals do, still god the box and all that stuff works perfectly this is pretty much the best industrial fuzz out there and also an excellent and transparent clean boost. - £40 Finally Tone Factor Mobius, solid red in colour with 2 white LED's this is a true bypass loop and feedback loop with adjustable blend on the feedback side to keep it tamer, works differently with every pedal in it, only selling because I have 2. These are battery powered only and I will include a battery in the pedal. - £30 Cheers
22.
I can Highly recommend David Lunt of Stockport I took a Peavey amp to him before X.mas to repair and he sorted it no problem If he can he likes to do it while you wait which saves you putting loads of miles on your vehicle. He only charged me £30. He's a nice guy too. His number is 0161 432 9698.
+1000 I used Dave Lunt recently. I had a 70's Simms-Watt head and when you turned it on all it did was hum, no signal through it or anything. £200 quid later it's fully serviced, retubed (4 Pre's, 4 Power) completely safe with IEC fitted for power so a complete overhaul and all this done in less than 24 hours. I have another Simms-watt head that needs the same work and he said he'd show me what he does so I can learn about how these beasts work. So I seriously recommend this guy, he's rewiring a bass for as we speak and I have a long long list of stuff for him to do after that I normally wouldn't trust anyone to do. His mobile number is 07966 263 616
23. Yeah, could be that simple as a loose wire
