1.
For me the squelch is the key to the Mutrons sound. Although the AF-9 is great I don't find it all that squelchy. Higgie correct me if I'm wrong but the Mutron III has an optical element that is now illegal to manufacture, this contributes heavily to that squelch. The HAZ does not have this and therefore does not sound the same.
If it's what I think it is then it's only illegal in Europe, many current pedals have similar componants like the Subdecay Quasar (Phaser) though it is being updated to not include them. They are illegal due to their use of cadmium in them but everyone knows the best pedals are radioactive.
2. Have you boosted the pickle by running the cream pie into it yet? Welcome to a new world
3. FYI those clips were done when I first got it I've got much better sounds out of it since, This can be a super thick fuzz that you can pretty much dial the octaves out and then select how gated you want it, this has become my main drive on my big board cuts a mix like a knife. Works fine with actives or passive, hell it doesn't care what you put into it, the octaves will even track if you put an octaver in front of it, I don't recommend this as small chaildren in the area die but otherwise it's all good.
4. I have space for it now and I'm a tone factor whore
5.
tayste: that is looking sweet. can we get some close ups of the board and the right way round? Are there any pedals which you always leave on? could you Velcro them to the underside of the pedal train to make some more space?
It's not finished yet, once it is there will be a full description full of pics going up, with sound and song samples, there isn't anything that gets left on all the time, it's more of a recording then performance board for some projects I've always wanted to do and got up coming. Cheers
6. Not for sale if I don't find a trade
7. I'll trade you my Catalinbread Hyperpak (2 Knob) that Nic made for me personally and stuck a blue led in it for your Blue with Black Barcode Tone Factor Mule.
8.
Anyone know if the Boss ME-50B has any similar sounds?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA No
9.
It's looking a bit empty there Tayste.
The piece of cardboard is a placeholder for 2 eb jr volume pedals that will go there. Still waiting for a modded dod grunge and will be buying Subdecay Prometheus and Mojo Hand Sugar Baby. So not as empty as you would think, also would love to get this down to 1 board but we'll see.
10. Was the Meatball, 100% sure on this thanks
11. Done a bit more work on my board
12. Can you snap a shot of the capo's please
13. Nah checked I'm wrong, well might be, Bob McBroom just built pedals in what ever was lying around, some hots are red some are random colours but there are only 5-10 of them and some might say hot inside and some might not, either way the hellbilly is rare and a very sought after pedal in the guitar world. Hope this helps
14. I'll check for you but I'm fairly sure I'm right.
15. Just to let you know that hellbilly isn't a bog standard hellbilly it's a hellbilly hot I think they made 5 might have been 3 out of the 150 hellbilly's they made. It has more gain on tap I think it might use different transisters but I can't remember, either way it's very very special and rare. Should say on the back plate when you open it up hellbilly hot and a date that bob mcbroom made it
16. For gods sake everything I need you own. Trade you for an Analogman Mini Chorus Clone
17.
tempting would be interesting to A/B this with my zoom b2.1u's chorus, which i love, just to see how much better this one is
Awww such a shame this appears to be sold, you will have to put the zoom up against a different "best chorus pedal in the world" Oh Well Come home to Daddy my sweet little chorus whore pedal
18.
How does the tonefactor work with bass frrquencies? not too bad? cheers, craig
It's designed to work with bass it's now known as the Boomstick Bottomfeeder but it is a bass mod 442 done by tone factor for me as a replacement to the 442 I gave to Doug Wimbish, very very good pedal, my fav filter and I'm very tempted to get it back.
19. Pheeewww! Good luck, these should sell...!
That person is on crack you wouldn't have any problems with these cabs what so ever
