2. Ok so had a few days and a gig with it, firstly because I've been using a 5 string as my main bass for a few years now the 4 is a little difficult to play all our songs on, it's requiring a bit to much thinking tbh but there are quite a lot of songs I can play on it but this is all just what I'm use to etc. Ok so sound, well oddly the 2002 solid maple 36inch scale with active electronics sounds ver very very similar to the 1981 Mahogany 34 inch scale passive bass, true I have the tone fairly open but yeah I can pretty much swap between them live and not notice a difference in volume or tone. This may also be due to my heavy eq'ing and the fact I use big tube amps but all in all a great result. Feel, feels interesting the neck is an odd shape compared to most basses I own but it's very playable and felt very comfortable during my gig. All in all I'm very happy I have th perfect 4 and 5 string for what I do and can see myself using the 4 more in the studio next trip since my low A doesn't translate very well when recorded. I'm going to get it rewired to master volume, blend, tone, tone, I'm very happy with the bass passive and overall love it just need to spend some time learning my set on 4 strings or string it ADGC but I've never liked this on 34 inch basses. Cheers

4.
Q: when did OW start doing these?.... I didn't realise they made them back in 1991
Agreed I would have thought more like 2001 but I spoke to Chris and he said the old ones are like 6 maybe 7 years old
5. These really are great basses I have valenti number 3 which is an older Warmoth Silver Jazz and it sounds stunning it basically goes to anything that isn't my band (Which I use Overwater's for) as it can just cop everything I need. Mine is every bit as good as every Sadowsky I've tried, I think you've made the right choice hanging on to it it will take a hell of a lot more than £650 to get an equal or better bass.
6. Really no one freaking out that one of these is available?
7. Last day on ebay finishes sometime tomorrow morning. Cheers
8. I can't really go below that £160 with what postage is going to be on the M9. Let me know
9. No longer needed as we have a different housing for our lights. I'm thinking £50 but open to offers it was £200 new apparently. It has the winch handle and everything to allow you to crank really heavy lights up to the height you need. I'll try and get some pictures on my phone later. Cheers
10. Tempt you with: Your JM4 + £120 = My Line 6 M9?
11. Someone buy this or my next gig is going to involve some fairly OTT setups with guitar amps and 4x12's and 8x10's
12. Again another reluctant style but I've got things I need to pay off and it's not like these are hard to get in the future. Also not in any bands that use any fx heavily at the moment and I've still got a few special toys sitting around Barely used, feet removed and velcro on the bottom for placing it on a pedalboard. I imported this so will come with US and UK adaptor perfect for those that travel lots have box and manual It's upgraded to the full fx firmware so the bass octaver etc are all on there. £250 plus special delivery Ideally would like a looper in a part ex for this such as a 2880 or Stereo Memory Man but surprise me Cheers
13.
Wow - what a beauty! How much does it weigh?
I'll weigh it tonight but I think it's the lightest bass I own or have ever tried.
14. Is it the same measurements as the one on the thomann site? If it's smaller than I'll probably take it. Cheers
15.
What a beauty! There's a green lefty for sale right now on leftybass.com and I'm seriously tempted, especially after seeing yours. That one doesn't have the sexy carved waist contours though, it's a flattop. I've never seen one like yours before!
BUY IT
16.
Is this the one Happy Jack sold here last year? It's pretty, I'm wondering if the lack of intonation adjustment would drive me nuts eventually though. Oh and what's the scale length on these?
Yes it is. it's actually very in tune for what it has as a bridge It's 30 inch scale.
17.
I have a 2008 Perception and although a hi fi sounding bass the eq has plenty of punch. Hope you have better luck cotacting them than I do. I have emailed them 3 times over the past month with no response !!
I have a 2002 Progress and it's plenty aggressive but its solid maple all the way through so that might help. If you want to borrow an MXR M-80 let me know mate.
18. Open to crazy offers Friday
19. Answer Hofner Starfire Overwater
20. Up for sale is my beloved Hofner 185E/2 it just doesn't suit anything I'm doing and ideally I'd like to pickup another Overwater I think, that or pay a Credit Card off It was recently setup by Ged Green and has a super low action, currently strung with custom 50-110 Overwater flats. Here is a soundclip http://www.ourinnocencelost.co.uk/basssamples/1.wav WITHDRAWN It's in great condition for it's age but there are lots of cracks in the finish but I believe this is to be expected with how they finished the basses back in the day.
