  1. Totally agree its in all in the seasoning and preparation of the wood
  2. Except that laminate is not necessarily more expensive as you can use one block of wood multiple times by ripping strips out of it, whereas you to get 1 piece you need 1 big block. Once you have cut the requisite sizes, gluing a laminate is not that labour intensive - you can bet the big firms will have it nailed down, may well be different for a single handed luthier
  3. 51 years is not test of longevity - it better not have a skunk stripe from truss rod insertion, the laminate crew will be claiming that!
  4. I better run for the hills - none of mine are laminated
  5. I’d sit in the middle of you guys sparring over pick ups. It is of course very pick up dependent-as an example, I’ve used Jazz Haüssel’s which you would be hard pushed to tell, and I also use a SD custom shop hot stack which is way far out from anything as well as weedier jazz pick ups.
  6. I have to say I do something similar
  7. It’s for it to be stabilised during production - the next ones often have it and USA generally don’t. The isn’t a drilled connection to the main cavity but you could match them up, drill a hole in the pickguard and add a switch if you desire, but it’s not in the best location ergonomically
  8. https://www.sandberg-guitars.de/support/serial-numbers/ It comes up from time to time - they have it on their web site now.
  9. EBS is very good - a good chap with a great ear i know has one and it is right there for that mild overdrive sound. @Dood lemme know if you ever need one, i have a spare! used to live in Naaaaaaaaaaaarich, if i am ever passing i can drop off for giggles. This thread is opening a can of quality worms for you!
  10. Oh and the Lehle one you want is Sonic Spark
  11. @Dood can you do a 3rd one on the DP3X-enjoyed the first 2
  12. If you pop earphones or ear defenders on then it won’t be so loud so you can turn it up
  13. It’s a problem with demos-they go from no gain to high gain and super high gain and you have to pick your way and work out the middle ground which is fine, but not ideal for everyone. imho these are the people to listen to Good quick demo - Steve Cook premier guitar In depth with chat @Dood guitar interactive or Nathan Navarro in depth no chat- mr excane
  14. Did I? Silly me..........that fits in your hand too Plus if you have a tuner that can go with one of these
  15. The pedal is tiny - it fits in your hand
  16. Oh and i totally get you about board Tetris - it can be so much fun
  17. The Lehle one is also absolutely fantastic, great great pedal. What my good chap @fretmeister pointed you too is great, and as ever i will nod my hat to their Tech21 DP3X pedal - it really also can do it all and is built to fit with other instruments in a band - some reports say that you cant have a good sound the clean or mix engaged without twiddling dials - that is bunkum you absolutely can. If you want a big array of sounds the Tech21 PSA 2.0 is also phenomenal. But back to your original question about Darkglass - yes it can and IMHO their best and most versatile pre-amp pedal before the ADAM is the AO - i would probably pick that above all others.
  18. Yes you absolutely can, and you can stack it with whatever you want Harmonic booster is another non ‘metal’
  19. Get a jazz body and rout it Job done
  20. I like the idea of a floating mic that rotates constantly keeping the sound fresh
  21. Glenn dUg Corey Glover Chris Cornell Lane Staley If you could fuse all them together - perfection
  22. You know me - I have already clocked the new Dead Daisies album. For anyone wanting a crushing phenomenal bass tone - Glenn and this is the song - it’s phenomenal https://youtu.be/Gc1oOsGxoAk
  23. Not weird at all - I find it waaaaaaaaay easier with pick compared to fingers - eventually fingers gets easier again - I think there is too much going on co-ordinating right and left hand fingers. The best singing bassists out there are Glenn Hughes and dUg Pinnick a they use picks - I am happy to be a very poor man’s version
  24. The thought has reproduced my breakfast, which coonicidentally looks like one of those finishes
