  1. A pluck of bass players
  2. I dont think i'd notice the difference
  3. Why not ?
  4. I've done the 3 piece thing, with my mate the guitar man doing rhythm / solos / vocals ( he was a long term pal before we started the band ) I guess i was lucky, as he wasn't an overly loud player. He played loud enough to be heard though. Cover of Stone Free StoneFree.mp3

  7. OPEN TO OFFERS BY PM 1 PAIR OF EMINENCE DELTA 10B MID RANGE GUITAR DRIVERS - 10" - AS NEW. They're in the original boxes, and unused. Each speaker is 16 ohm, so wired in parallel they would make an 8 ohm 700 watt 2x10 guitar cab. New price is £86 each ( can be found on Blue Aran website ). Blue Aran will sell 2 for £166 + £6 postage. Total £172. I'm looking for £100
  8. One of these. Ugh
  9. Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secets was pretty damn good. I love early Floyd YMMV of course
  10. Dump the track and do a cover of B-i-tch instead
  11. Yup, got some very decent heavy duty boxes
  12. Vintage 74 reissue in vintage white, Maple neck, maple fingerboard, block inlays. Body is ash. I've owned the bass from new, and upgraded the pickups to Bartolini Classic Deeptones. The preamp is now an East Retro 01 with battery + black stack knobs. Bridge is now a Fender Hi-Mass. Bass is in exceptional condition, as i bought just before lockdown, and of course everything all went chest up after that. Bass has never left my lounge. Pickguard has the odd blemish here and there due to playing at home over the last 18 months. Comes with a really decent Thomann padded case , but no hard case. This stops me posting it, though it can be posted if any buyer wants to arrange this. I'm also lobbing in a Gaucho Buffalo lace leather strap ( mint ) which was around £25 and a set of DR Sunbeams as fitted. Sorry, no trades. Just thinning the herd, as they say. Oh, i've decided if anyone wants to arrange postage, i will cover the cost upto 25 squids
  13. It might be ( but not always ) a case of being there at a young age. I discovered the Sensation album from a friend and i hadnt long left school at that time. Zappa had been around already for several years by then, but it was the Sensation album that blew my wig off
  14. Buyers are not forced to buy stuff on Ebay, so there is none of this " buyers are having to pay extra " Buyers can simply not buy something if it's too expensive. Period. But i have to agree that the giant Ebay corporate money making machine is a testament to capitalism at it's absolute finest. I'd like to see sellers Foxtrot Oscar in their millions over Ebay's sheer unadulterated greed, and then we'll see them back track double quick
  15. Big treat on Sky Arts tonight. Its Frank Zappa. And for those in the other Zappa thread wondering which albums for beginners, then this is for you. 2 of his best and most accessible ..Overnight Sensation and Apostrophe. Enjoy
  16. Edited 1 hour ago by uk_lefty Self censored profanity to remove term that rhymes with Barry White Carry shyte ?
  17. AS posted , you might wanna skip 200 Motels, but there's some real treats coming up. Hot Rats, Overnight Sensation ( killer ! ) Zoot Allures, Had the pleasure of seeing the great man live at Hammersmith Odeon. One of my standout live gigs along with King Crimson ( Discipline era ) The Tubes , Floyd, Bowie
  18. Drumming was my bag before i took up the bass. Many gigs under the belt, but bass is so much more satisfying, so i found out. Up until a couple of years ago, i still had a pop on the tubs now and again at our local Sunday jam at Fat Lils. @FinnDave knows the venue i speak of
  19. I can't change my Reverb PW because i dont remember what it was. That's the trouble of being advised to have a different PW for every site we join but told dont write them down. I'm on loads of sites.
  20. If they were the only basses available, then you wouldn't be playing something else, shirley ? Unless you mean something like a Euphonium ? Kettle Drum ?
  21. A lot of Scorpions must have died to build that
  22. That was the extremely rare Labra bass by Doc Martin custom builds
