1. Hello, I'm flying blind here, I've done a search but can't seem to find an answer. I'm after a first time bass multi effects pedal/rack that you can edit effects/chains on a PC or Mac? Does any one know if that is possible & which ones have that facility. cheers Brummie
2. Hello fellows, I've done a search but not sure of the answers. I'm temporarily without a bass amp, a friend has offered the use of his Marshall lead amp that has a 10" speaker, would it be OK to use that with the reverb off for home practise until I'm sorted or would it cause damage to it. cheers everyone in advance.

4. Good stuff - cheers J, Thanks for answering my inane questions after purchase. Cheers
5.
Good news... you have been waiting long enough ! :-)
Me too ! It's mine, all mine now
6.
Is the listing still live, if so we can all go on and bug him with questions
good one!
7. MISSED IT ! I just sat around doing sweet F A yesterday and I could walk there, the Jazz fest is coming up, anyone going to that?
8. Nice one, I've attempted but failed to master Hit me loads of times, I always think that I master it I won't be as incompetent as I assume Iam. I think the Country is bouncing to people practicing 'Hit me' since you first posted. I'm jealous now.
9.
Lol !! Its not 63 its now 65 !!!!! another 2 have hatched
You need to keep them apart to stop this happening or take the batteries out to stop them being 'active'
10. I used to love Musical exchange, I could spend a day there, it always felt like they had a couple of hundred basses there but it was probably less. If you're driving down the M40 it wouldn't be a bad idea to pull off on the B452 at Ealing and pop into Peter Cooks Guitar world, they only have about 15 basses on display but have loads on theie stock list - they just fetch it for you from the warehouse, nice people and open to haggling. I always find Denmark st is a bit of a let down. Good luck
11.
MB1. ......." i yi yi yippee yi yi yi a wuuuuuwa wuuuuuwa tig tig teeg!".....
Definately!! James Brown James Brown
12. Saw them a week last Saturday at Shepherds Bush Empire, good fun and v funky - she's nearly 60 now!! Her bass parts in Tom Tom Club songs tend to be kept quite simple, despite that she went out of time a couple of times when she was dancing around - but she's forgiven - she was dancing around like a teenager. Keane were good as well BTW

I'm off to NZ.

Good luck ship mate, hope it works out for you, I'm sure you'll keep us updated, PM me if you need any basses 'stored'. cheers
14. A friend of mine works for the DSS in Denmark St and has been told they will be moving office within a year as their building is coming down, whether any others around it will be pulled down is unknown. D St is always a bit of a dissapointment but I'd hate to see it go - I don't do shops but make an exception for Denmark St.
15.
Not trying to be clever but isn't that where a harmonic is? If you don't want them then don't play them, it could be due to the new strings and you not being used to the neck as well. You could also try muting with your other l/h fingers too....
Usually liftiing my finger to play an open string is enough to mute the string but I think your right about having to mute anyway. cheers for the reply
16. Hi, I bought a Dean Edge recently, haven't had much time to muck about on it but noticed yesterday that when I fretted 4th string at the 5th fret and lifted my finger - the harmonics rang out. Anyone know how to correct this. Cheers
17. If you're going to be in Denmark St on Friday afternoon - loiter outside St Giles Church and have a ciggy/cup of tea, they have an AA meeting on Friday afetrnoon thats always very glamorously attended by resident and visiting famous drunks. Cheers
18.
You want a sprayed on polyester finish that can be polished properly on a wheel. Everything else will look pants in comparison. Not putting a downer on it... it's the truth.
Is that a polyester varnish? if so you make it sound possible (the glass is half full) not a downer if it is possible, could I get a finish as smooth as your avatar's backside?
19. It is one piece of good looking Alder, but now I'm not sure what I'm going to do, cheers for the replies so far. cheers
20.
Do you definitely want a "varnish" finish rather than an "oiled" finish ? It's just that a good varnish finish can be difficult to achieve in a domestic environment (it's usually too dusty or the temperature is not ideal). Whereas an oiled finish is much easier.
Good point, I'm flying blind here but have really been taken by the finish on the Jazz pictured. What I don't want to do is attempt something that could be a nightmare to restore, I've presume oil seeps into the wood - that would make it pretty much the done deal no matter how bad it was. If the finish pictured is a varnish - would it be appropriate to get a furniter restorer to attempt it?
21. Hi everyone, I have an Alder jazz body with poor paintwork, I'd like to strip it and varnish it like this I've read up the finishing process but need sme advise about the application. Do I use a clear varnish or is it some sort of laquer. Any tips but no sarcasm please. Cheers
22.
first (and last gig) at the Attik in Leicester before it closed down. 1st we were supposed to be kit sharing, but the band we followed packed up their drums and fecked off. 2nd Guitarist Andy tuned his guitar - he's got a korg chromatic tuner only he'd recalibrated it accidently to about 458hz concert pitch and tuned his guitars to it. He was about a quarter tone out with the rest of the band - i could tell that there was something wrong but I wasn't quite sure as we were playing in a funny alcove thing with the sound bouncing round. then, andy breaks a string (fairly regular occurrence as he battered his guitars), switches guitar mid song only there is camo netting on the [low] ceiing of the stage, which the guitar gets stuck in and dangles for the rest of the song. Dreadful
That's a corker
23. Hi, I put my (active) bass through the mic input of an Alesis Mulltimix 8 USB into GB and get great results, the multimix only cost me £45 on Gumtree, use whatever gets you a great sound. Good luck
24.
I was lucky, growing up in Ealing, West London, I was within a stones throw of the original Marshall shop and the Simms-Watts shop. I used to see the Who's Marshall stacks in for repair. They were always completely destroyed!
The Marshall shop is Tony's barbers now or 'F in Tony' to those who use his shop, he can't stop himself swearing all the time. I go to Peter Cooks occasionally - that's a great shop, Pete Townsend used to get his guitars set up there.
