1. Price reduced to £180. Daddy really wants a new P!
2. Well, I'm 25, but look about 18; does this count me out?
3. As new, briefly taken out of box, but never used. I bought it as a starting point to my home studio, which after much consideration requires a lot more funding than I currently am able to provide. It looks like they go for £240 new at the moment, so would be looking at [s]£200[/s] £180 Will consider trades.
4. Sweet! Thanks. I think I'll have to go have a play one. Do you reckon £1100 is a good price for a new one?
5. By "throaty" do you mean "lacks balls" or the kind of "throaty" that cuts through the mix?
6. I've been getting a little bit wet over P-Basses recently after never really being that interested in them up to this point. I have had a bit of a look around and have decided that I really like the look of the Fender American Vintage ‘57 Precision; it looks like it's going to have some good punch to it. Does anyone have one? If so, do you have any sound clips? I think I saw one recently in Bristol reverb, so might take a trip down there tomorrow to put one through its paces. Cheers Kieran
7. I bought a 6 string recently and found that although the low B was very useful, I never really got up to playing the high C that much; it just didn't really suit my playing style. I might give a 5 string a go for my next bass, but would go for something with the same spacing as a 4. Let us know what you decide and how you get on if you do get one.
8. Lee I've PM'd you.
9. ROSCOE!!! Amazing!!!
10. I know this isn't really helping the sale, but I have one pretty much exactly the same as this (except with black headstock) and the neck is an absolute joy! As lateralus has already stated, it sounds amazing regardless of playing style. Someone buy it!!!!
11. Thanks for the bump Slapierro! - It's a little bit too tight for me too! I've had a little interest on this bass, but no sale as yet!
12. I can confirm that the string spacing is 17mm. Looking at it, i'm pretty sure that there isn't any option to make it wider
13.
ok, thanks Kev and Wild Frog Shot for the Hudson PBS6.... yes, what a story and turn arround between so many different hands! please could you tell me if there is a set-up for different string spaces into the bridge? is it usualy 17mm? is a setting for 18,5mm possible? thanks!
I don't think there is a set up for different string spaces, but will have a double check this evening.
14.
Ive got Fender 9050ML's on my Jazz
Me too! It's got a real nice rich thud now.
15. Didn't Rob get it from Cranes?
16. Did GroovyPlucker buy this? It's really nice. Have a bump on me.
17.
it's the first time i see a Cort Cubow 6 with real and beautifull woods!!!! (no luthite! at last!) i can't believe it! Is it a special model? a new release of the Cort's Curb.line? original bridge? is there a possibility to make wider the strings space? or allways a tiny strings space? no more slap-switch? what is that p.u.? thanks if you could answer about that nice Cort Curb 6,yes very lovely one!
Yep, as Kev said, it's not quite a Cort. People either seem to either really like or really dislike the wood finish, a question of taste I guess. I'm not sure exactly what the pup is. It is 3EQ and has a good range of tone though. Kev, I can see how this is going to end up already. Is there a Bristol based bassist on here that hasn't owned this bass?
18. This bass needs to be played! I bought this Hudson PBS6 from Shockwave earlier this year. It's a great bass to play, however, I'm working on more stripped back arrangements at the moment, and am about to begin Cello lessons. I need to sell this lovely specimen to part-fund my grandiose ambitions. 6 String Cort Curbow Spalt Topped Mahagony / Maple body Ebony Fretboard 3 Range Pre-amp Currently strung with an overwater custom set strings, super light gauge 110-30 Bass costs £599 new from Cranes music shop, who appear to be the only stockists The only damage is very slight wear where Shockwave's thumb has been resting on the bass Looking for £250 collected from Bristol, but can meet you half way as long as you don't live somewhere silly
19. Last time I was in Reverb/Sound Control they had a load of Epiphones. I had one about 7 years ago, and got so annoyed with the neck dive that it had to go.
20. I have what I guess is the most recent interpretation of a Bass VI (although a much cheaper version). One of these: It's really good fun for underpinning acoustic/electric guitars when doing stripped down arrangements. I recorded a session for BBC radio Bristol on Thursday: If you'd like to hear it, I'll upload a link to the "listen again" feature once the BBC have attached the correct link!
21.
I don't know why anyone would even want to be signed to a major any more. S.P.
I gather it's like the worst loan you never signed up for...
22. Got a Peugeot Partner Van which just passed it's MOT today with no additional work required! - Good 'ol Vanny! This was a massive relief after a kamikaze pheasant broke my non-insurance covered windscreen a couple of weeks ago; scared the crap out of me though! We can get most of our stuff in there, but our ivory-tinkler usually plays 4 full size synths, so he has to take his own stuff.
